I looked thru the HTZ151 manual and there is no mention of an optical connection. If it did support optical, you would see a square black port usually on the rear panel.

A question about Pioneer HTZ-170dvd Please Can I connect it to my laptop computer? If so can you explain how as I'm offered a new one to buy for a good price but I think its very old to run with a pc.

you want to play music or a film on the laptop and run it through the Pioneer HTZ-170DVD Region Free Home Theater System and through speakers?

I don't see why not. You would use the audio out on the laptop and connect to the audio input on the Pioneer. If the laptop has HDMI, it is even easier. Here is the manual.

PIONEER HTZ-55DV DVD SURROUND SYSTEM. POWER ... NOT ABOUT CAMERAS!!

Question edited for clarity and typo 'PioneeEr' (3 x Es).
Question moved from Cameras to the Pioneer Model category. Why SHOUT it is in the wrong category when you could have put it in the correct one yourself? You have 10,000 to choose from :>D
Please don't type in all CAPS, it is considered SHOUTING, is RUDE and also harder to read.

The internal cooling fan has failed and needs replacing. Take it to your nearest Pioneer Service Centre. It is a cheap repair, or open it up and replace it or even vacuum up all the fluff and lubricate the fan.

Pioneer htz-121dvd - I need to connect HDMI input for 5.1 surround sound, how can I do it

It will probably be easier to wire the sound bar to the "Audio Out"" on the TV, the DVD player to the HDMI on the TV then change the settings in the TV.
On the back of most TV's there are 'Phono Jack' connectors and newer TV's have a 'Digital Out' that uses an Optical cable to transfer the sound. Use one of these to connect the sound bar and usually anything you play through the TV will play through the sound bar.
Depending on your TV, the settings to switch to the sound bar will be in the Sound or Audio section.

Hi i need to unlock my pioneer DVD player HTZ-121DVD region code

You may have to turn to Pioneer authorized service. They may have a special remote that can accomplish this, but it can cost a bundle. Samsung players are easily turned region-free with the normal remote.

Can i use a toslink cable

No. The Toslink cable would only carry the audio portion and not the video. That's why the HDMI cable and it's related firmware were created. HDMI can pass both video and digital audio. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

Pioneer HTZ-77DV no power

No, the capacitors are not shot. I don't know why everyone fixates on that. There's allot more to electronics than capacitors. Pioneer is not particularly known for bad capacitors, as they use a higher grade part. It could be a power supply problem. It could have a bad microprocessor(computer) IC. It could have DC Offset, meaning a damaged amplifier. As to whether it's worth fixing, I can give you more information. HELP Blu-Ray to Pioneer DVD Suround System connection

The receiver that came with your speakers should have a digital input for a dolby digital source. On the back of the receiver it's probably labled "digital coax" or it could be an optical as well.
Your new Blu-Ray has these outputs on the back. it's as simple as getting the correct cable and selecting that input on the receiver.
To make sure you get the right cable, look at the back of the receiver, and the blu-ray. Look for the digital input on the receiver, and get a cable that matches that. It's either a single RCA cable, or an optical.

So when done, you will have the HDMI or Component out from the Blu-Ray going to the TV, and the digital audio going to the receiver. To hear the sound through the receiver, just go to that input on the receiver.
