Everytime i put in a disc my xbox come's up saying open try

erm this might be a firmware issue i suggest if your still under warrenty contact xbl customer support and they will reflash the firmware on the cd drive

Reasons

1, the disc may be dirty
2. the mian reason for this your xbox drive cannot read the disc , because the power of the lens is gone(not completely) ,

solution:

1. keep your disc inside the drive and switch off the console, again swith on try this 2 to 3 time
2. keep the console in vertical position or little slanding position(180 dg) make sure it does not fall

3. its better to buy hatddisc and load the game inside it , so that u lens life increased

4. change the entire drive

Hi, it sounds like you have the" open tray" error that is very common with the 360s. How you fix this is you take your DVD drive apart and look at the laser assembly, there are 2 screws on the side of it, look at the one on the left. Turn this screw to the left a VERY little bit at a time and keep checking it every time you turn it until it stops the open tray error.

1. Turn off the xbox 360, disconnect the cables wait for 20 seconds reconnect the cables and turn it back on.

2. Remove the hard drive, turn on your xbox 360 without the hard drive.

3. Re attach the hard drive and turn on your xbox 360

This issue occurs when there is a problem with the lens on your 360 disc tray..

wont open, wont close, makes clicking/grinding noises etc.

If you do not hear your xbox disc spinning that means your disc drive is broken. You will need to order another one. if you are under warranty still go have microsoft fix it for free. If not u can order parts online to fix it yourself.

You may have a laser problem or a faulty DVD drive, you could try a lens cleaning CD in the console or you could call Microsoft and explain your situation, the DVD is replaceable but it may be more work than you are willing to undertake.
