Water no longer flows and therefore no ice. I've changed the filter. No improvement

Check to see if old ice remains inside the ice slots. If not then fill with tap water and allow to freeze. If after the water freezes and cubes drop into the ice bin you will need to replace the dual water control valve. If ice maker does nothing then the ice maker will need replaced. What is the model number?

Ice maker not making ice

Hello John;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You did not provide your model number so I am going to have to guess.

You may have a bad ice maker thermostat, heater or motor module.

Please resubmit your question with the model number and I will help you.

Our icemaker had a red blinking light and wasn't working. We took out the bin and let it defrost - cleaned it out (turned it off). Then after it was clean put it back in the freezer - we switched it to...

The bimetal thermostat embedded inside your ice maker is what tells the water control valve to open on rear of refrigerator near floor where the water supply enters the refrigerator. That water valve has two sides. One for the water dispenser and other for ice maker. I will try to make this simple and in my words because Whirlpool now owns Maytag and its related brand names. They do not allow me to provide the service manual any longer so I need to place my on work here. Even with what I believe is the problem you may have a technician or someone that is comfortable working with electricity test the dual water control valve on back and near floor.
Test for continuity and resistance on both sides with power disconnected from dual water control valve. Both sides should show very close to the same amount of resistance. Use care testing water control valve because of the risk of shock especially if wet. Click Here=>

Number 13 in that photo is the Ice Makers thermostat Part Number=> Pin Style Icemaker Thermostat 627985
The dual Water Control valve is Part Number=> 61005626 Dual Water Control Valve
Another way of testing ice maker is to fill with tap water and turn on. If ice freezes and drops then the dual water control valve needs to be replaced. If not working then you have two options and that is a complete Ice Maker Assembly Part Number=> D7824706Q or replace parts.

Ice Maker Dead

Yes maybe, but we can try to see if it is the ice maker alone is the problem. Try filling with water and let freeze while turned on. If ice maker dumps ice into ice bin then the reason would most likely be the water control valve. The problem with these ice makers are that they are electronic and have no replacable parts. What ever you find please let me know. The part number for the ice maker is Click Here=> WR30X10093 If the ice maker test works then the water valve should open but don't the replacement water control valve is Click Here=> WR57X10032 Please rate my solution after I have helped you resolve the problem and communicate with me. Ice maker doesnot work ge artic profile

Your model has an electronic ice maker part number Click Here=> WR30X10093 When the electronic ice maker fails you usually need to replace the complete ice maker. You can test the ice maker by filling the tray with tap water. If the water freezes and then drops the ice then the water control on the back of your refrigerator is the reason. The water control valve is Click Here=> WR57X10032 Either way let me know your results, Thank You, Sea Breeze

Ice maker not working, water does not fill up the trays.

Try this and let me know if it works, then send me the model number. Fill ice maker with tap water. Turn it on and allow to freeze and if it dumps the ice the water control valve on the back needs to be replaced. If not then I need to know what your model number is to see what type ice maker you have and options you will have for repair. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ice maker sequence is out of syncronization

I believe your ice maker is the reason for the problem. If you have a model number it is possible that parts are avaiable. Sometimes the complete ice maker will need to be replaced because the controls are electronic in some model ice makers. Could you send the model number of your Whirlpool Refrigerator? Thanks, Sea Breeze
