My emachine w series w3107 has windows xp installed and it is corrupt i am trying to install windows 7 but when i try to install it says i need to scan for drivers and it wont find any please help

Whoever performed the work, wiped out the recovery partition on the hard drive. You can try contacting eMachines to get a set of recovery disks for your PC.
when you dual boot win 7 and xp win 7 has to be the 1st 1 installed then xp or a corruption will accur .they have a fix for this on the microsoft database.it will get your xp install going.
just a note! what was your problem with windows 7. even if you get xp on your machine there will be no more support from microsoft in the next year or two. another thing if you have to bring your laptop back to the shop you have invaladed your warenty. move with the times and give windows 7 another try. if you get windows 7 pro there is a xp mode.
that is so easy to solve! reformat your pc using XP WARRIOR XP2.... that OS is supported many drivers of motherboard and video drivers. after installing XP warrior, you don't need to install the driver of your M-board and any onboard card on your pc... try to contact me if you wanna try XP warrior.
You resolution on the eMachine is higher than what the 42inch LCD can support .. reduce is to size by check the LCD manual and make change in window display settings

These kinds of issues are most often related to driver conflicts. First thing you need to do is reboot your PC while holding F8, until you receive the menu about booting in to Safe Mode. Try booting in to Safe Mode.
If you can get in to Safe Mode, disable any new devices you have recently installed, reboot again, this time letting it try to boot all the way to Windows.
If it reboots again, go back in to Safe Mode and disable/uninstall something else.
Basically, it is a process of elimination. Safe Mode loads a very minimal set of system drivers, so if you can boot in to Safe Mode but not in to full Windows, the problem is one (or more...) of the drivers that load in Windows but don't load in Safe Mode.
