I put the film in the camera and the knob wont turn when i advance the film. I don't know what to do.

Hi. Pay careful attention to the way the end of the film fits through the take-up reel. Open the back (empty) and give the wind knob a few twists. That will tell you which way it is turning. Put the end of your film through the slot in the take-up reel so itd winds onto itself as it advances. There's usually enough extra unexposed wound onto the factory reel that it won't cost you and pix at the end of it. Pull enough out of the cassette to be sure your winding-load position is really going to hold when you advance. Good luck.

To open back cover lift knob on top of camera ( this knob has a small arm that unfolds - used in rewinding).
Once open you will see which side is the film side ( under this knob) and the take up side. On the film side raise the knob again in order to insert film case, the top of this should flip over later used to rewind film. with film trail out toward back of camera. Now push the knob down. Film should only be loaded one way so the knob can be lowered into film canister. Lower knob and Film canister is now secure.
Next thread film leader onto take up spool. Some times these have a slot , but most Just have the teeth that fit the film edge.thread the film into slot then unto teeth. You will need to use film advance arm (There should be an arm on the top opposite side of film knob) you would move that would advance film.
as you move this arm ( with cover open ) film holes should engage the teeth on bottom and top. ( if you can't advance after 1 or 2 advance arm swings) press take picture button ( releases springs).
continue until film is captured top and bottom. Use the film spool knob gently wind film back into canniester until snug don't over wind. Close cover, take a picture with lens cap on, repeat that. As you wind ,the film cartridge knob should rotate.
You are not wasting pictures film was designed for this waste.
you should know how many photos were on film 12/24/36 pictures.
you may have a knob to set to that number.
When your ready to remove film ,push silver button on bottom and use winder handle ,rotating until free and easy. Open cover mention earlier.

when you place the film in the camera & close the door does the film advance ?

I don't know this model but you can try this.Drop the film canister in and pull the film strip out and place on the film advance sprocket.Rotate the sprocket by hand/thumb until film is seated (1 turn). If the auto feed is working you will be OK. 2 other things ,1 of course load film in dark area, 2 check the batteries on the camera first, if they are week your film advance wont work ,Good Luck.

I'm not sure I see a problem here. There is enough slack in the film that the first few exposures can spool out of the canister without it turning. If in doubt, close the back and then _lightly_ turn the rewind crank to take up the slack. Don't force it, just turn it until you feel resistance. Then advance the film and see whether the rewind knob turns.

The camera may be set to do a multiple exposure and you must take the camera off this setting back to normal mode to remedy this.
1. Look at the top of the camera from the back - on the far left is the knob with the BKT, FLASH, and ISO buttons. On the bottom of the outside of this knob there is a small ring and also a small black unlabeled button to the top left of the knob.
2. Press and hold the small button
3. Turn the ring until it shows the "S" setting

Then fire the shutter - the camera should operate as normal and advance the film after the shutter firing. If it still does not, then your film advance motor may be bad and need to be replaced or repaired.

Pull up on the rewind knob to open the back door. put the film canister in, lower the rewind knob and pull enough film leader to attach the film to the takeup spool. close the back cover and advance to counter #1

Pull up on the rewind knob ( left side ) to open the film door. put film cassette in chamber then lower rewind knob and pull enough film leader to the take up spool. attach film to spool. close the film door then advance the film to #1 on the counter.

Do you have film in the camera? If so, is it an old film or you have just loaded it?
If it's an old film, could it be at the end of the roll - to check this, 'lightly' turn the rewind lever backwards and forwards. As the camera is pointing away from you, turning the rewind knob clockwise will normally rewind the film (don't press the rewind button in, we don't actually want to rewind the film yet), turning the knob clockwise should be tight and a firm stop, if the film is at the end, you will feel the same tight firm stop if you turn it counter-clockwise. Don't turn the rewind knob backwards (counter-clockwise) too hard, you'll unscrew it and it may fall apart. If turning it backwards rolls freely in a full circle, then you have film left.
Another option is that, since it's been so long since you used it, the loading of the film may have gone amis and sometimes the cassette will flip backwards, jamming the film in place so it wont advance - if you have loaded the film and not taken any pics or have not been able to advance it at all, it should be safe to open the back as the film will be in it's original loading position, if you have left the film in it from some time and don't know what stage it's up to it may be best to take it to a camera store where they will have a "Black Bag" to put the camera in and manually open and unload the film. Make sure you get an experienced person - some pimply-face teen that's never used a film camera can easily put their fingers through the shutter while it's in the black bag - I've seen it plenty of times.

The lines could be scratches in the negatives.

Have you looked CLOSELY at your negatives with a magnifier to see if the scratches are on your film?

And when you say "Serviced", do you mean "cleaned" also?

If you have scratched film, then return it to the place you got it serviced/cleaned and let the owner/manager know that you just had it serviced there and it's scratching your negatives.

If you have an automatic camera, this bit below will be of no help.

Assuming that your camera is a manual loader, it may be that you aren't putting enough film into the take up spool for it to catch.

Try putting a little more film into the take up spool when you are loading the camera, and MAKE SURE that the holes in the film LINE UP with the film sprockets.

Then after you close the film door and start advancing your film, look at the film rewind knob, if it isn't turning while you are winding in film, then your film hasn't caught in the take up spool.

Another way to tell if your film is advancing is to shoot a test shot, and then advance the film, and then lightly turn the rewind knob a bit.

You should be able to feel the tension of the film if it is loaded correctly.
