Goldman capf3636b6. Fan outside is running blowing cold air to the outside.Inside is making a humming sound but not running. If I turn it off all of it stopsThere is some ice visible on the pipes

System needs to be thawed out, so turn it off before something else breaks, cause pipes are probably plugged and stopping any movement inside the system, Try using a blow dryer on high heat to help with the thaw out of the pipes with the ice build-up , then leave it off for a couple of hours and then try to turn it on again see if the unit in the house is running or blowing cold air again. Turn it on HIGH...!!!!

How do i trouble shoot/fix m1400 frosting pipe reezing up outside not cooling house

Get a high velocity air filter, not a pleated one. Check air into evaporator section clean and passing air well. Next, check proper operation of blower motor and wheel. Next, check for proper charge by performing a superheat and subcool calculation. You will need a repairmant to check these. Superheat and subcool will tell you if your unit is properly charged and if you metering device is working properly. A typical superheat and subcooling value is around 10 to 15 degrees.

Our carrier air conditioner failed to cool down the house last night. changed the filter and still struggling to cool house down.

is it cooling some at night but none during the day basically ? Outside unit clean also ? Good airflow ? if yes on all of these feel the copper pipes that go inside the house from the outside and once a/c has been on for a few minutes the large line should be very cool or cold to where it would condensate.. Sometimes it may take up to 15 minutes..

Air condition jsut 10 month old ... not keeping up whith cooling

If it's only 92° outside and the unit won't cool the house, then the unit is either to small or it's low on refrigerant. They are designed to cool a house with outdoor temperatures up to 115° to 120°.Usually you need one ton a/c for every 400 square feet of house, but, you have to take into account for average outdoor temperature and humidity, windows, doors, especially sliding glass or patio doors and which side of the house they are on, insulation in walls and attic.
The air leaving your duct work going into the rooms should be about 20° lower than the room temperature, if you have a 80° room then the air leaving the duct should be around 60°. if it is then the unit is probably to small if, everything is working properly.

Nordyne AC unit works at first but later provided cool air. Thermostat set to 65. Power running to unit outside. Noticed ice around line outside and can send a picture. Chipped ice away. Want to know what...

If the inside fan motor is running OK you are low on refrigerant. If the inside fan motor is not running, repair the inside fan motor. Could also possibly be dirty inside coils.

I have a heat pump AC unit. Amana ASZ140241 SEER 14. The AC is not working; no cold air is blowing. I checked the unit outside and there is a block of ice around the pipe leading into the house. Is there...

The ice shows that you have freon so that to me is an indicator of an inside problem. Could be dirty air filter. Dirty a-coil, or bad blower motor.
I may need a little freon but do the cleaning yourself before you call anyone. It don't take an HVAC guy to wash coils. Use a foaming coil cleaner that is specifically for indoor use and go by the directions. The no rinse formula will draw out the coils and open the drain.

The unit outside is getting ice around the line close to where you put refrigerant in. House not as cool as needed.

Freon is low. Sounds counter-intuitive, but the large return line should be cool( even have condensation on it) but never cold enough to freeze.Either use factory pressure settings or add just enough Freon until Ice melts. If unit has a high-side sight glass there should be no bubbles present. Do not overfill.

The unit is not cooling. have noticed ice on the line in the unit outside.

if one or few pipe may not aproblem may be the thermostat is aet to very low cool anf the fan on low speed or the thermostat is defective also if this icing is growing up means
-1 evaporator need cleaning
- 2 a smll freon leakage

Panasonic Inverter aircon E24DKR icing up inside unit

Yes, if the filters are clean, the coils are clean, and it is still freezing up in cooling mode, then it is low on refridgerant.

My AC unit keeps freezing up on the copper lines going into the house from the outside unit. It also freezes up on the inside lines and the air is not cooling my home down.

Operate your air conditioner with the fan in the on position. But first turn the fan on, turn the temp up or shut the cooling off. Your coil is more than likely frozen over. At night when outside temperature drops the refrigerant pressure and temperature in the system also drops. This action can cause icing of the cooling coil, with the fan in automatic everything shuts down at the end of a cooling cycle. Thus no air movement to melt ice on previous cooling cycle.
