Question about GE 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Range - Stainless-Steel

GE 30" Self-Cleaning oven

We have disconnected the power to the stove whenever we are not using it because the running fan is a pain. Would a blown broil element cause this problem? When you say "replace some electronics", do you mean the whole circuit board or some components on the board?

I do not think that the problem is caused by the broil element, but I cannot rule that out. I believe there is a short or an open in the circuitboard. Unless you find the short or open you will need to replace the entire control board.

I have a GE self cleaning oven I want to clean. Do I need to take racks out, and am I able to use stove during this process

If you do not take the racks out they will discolor and not slide in and out as well as before. Do not use the stove for any other purpose during the cleaning process. Oven temperatures reach over 900 degrees during cleaning. Open a window to vent out the fumes from cleaning.

The stove working but not the oven

there is probably an inline fuse that has blown...remove the back panel from the stove after unplugging of course, and you can see if there is a fuse - replacement should be very easy and inexpensive..if it is a glass buss type fuse they can be purchased for very low cost at any auto parts store

Lost directions on my stove. How do you clean the self cleaning oven. Its a ge electric range

Their should be a knob on it that says self clean or just clean set and you need to lock the door shut, when the cleaning is complete the door should unlock automaticly.
