Question about C-Technologies C-Pen 600 Handheld Scanner

C-pen 600 malfunction

I have used my CPen 600 for the last 3 years, but no longer turns on. I've recharged my AAA batteries, but this does not work either. I believe there might be something wrong with the pen itself. If you are able to provide assistance, please contact me via e-mail at gil@umail.ucsb.edu As I am in the middle of completing my dissertation, your assistance will be greatly appreciated. I look forward in receiving your response.

Best,

Oscar

The battery(ies) are the not the problem. I placed the batteries in another item and they work just fine. I always carry two sets to use with the Cpen, which means all four batteries work just fine. Please provide an alternative solution.

    Thanks,

    Oscar

How can I determine if it is either the battery contact or another internal problem on the hardware? I have successfully opened the device, but where do I go from here?

No power is one of 3 things

1.) Battery / Contacts
2.) power switch or button
3.) dead mainboard.

If its oisnt the battery or the battery contacts then more than likely its the main board thats damaged. You may eighter contact the manugfacturer for a replacement boad or you may need to buy a new one. Other than that there isnt much you can do. As to repairs itself on the board, Its microcircuits which makes repairs and modifications by human hands really difficult.

If you are able to open up the unit, please try to check the contacts of your battery, there is a possibility that the battery contact is broken or rusted.

if it is loose, resolder it and if it is rusted outl just give it a quick cleaning, do be careful though.

good luck

Hello,
Well As you suggest That the Batteries are Quite fine and charged,We can assume that either the device is down due to an internal problem in the board or the Cord which is in contact the battery is not working..Thus in Both the cases i would highly advice you to take th C-pen for service to the authorised Company Service centre Who can service it unless Hopefully it is not the time To Replace it in case Where you must a new one my friend..

Well if you can read the circuit well check for the connections and check if theres any break in it..If so Try to fix it or else please Check With the terminals that connect to the batter contact..It should lead you to the solution!...

How about if you change the battery? because that can also be a problem with the battery or some of parts inside it..

Hope that helps......

These NiMh batteries last a certain life -approx 3 years.

I replaced mine with 700 mAh 1.5V AAA rechargeables. Two per hansdet - buy 4 for $13.80 from EveryBattery. See everybattery.com.au or ask for the long nipple AAA NiMh cells.

I need to replace the F6M 1.2 rechargeable batteries in my CPen 800C. Do you have them in stock and are you in a position to supply them. I am prepared to pay the charge only if you can supply them.

I have just replaced the battery on my C-Pen 800c with one from ESP Special Batteries. They did not have a suitable plug, so I had to remove the wires from the old battery and solder to the new. http://www.espspecialbatteries.co.uk/battery/ESP-1-69-125A This cost 9 pounds 80 including postage.

Philips SE 455 twin set cordless: The charge lasts less than an hour when using speaker phone, so I am looking for replacement batteries. Phones only 2-3 years old and absolutely fine in all other...

A higher capacity battery should work even better because a fully charged 900 mAh battery allows the phone to operate 50% longer than a 600 mAh battery between charges. I have had good results with Rayovac Recharge Plus 900 mAh in my Philips SE450. This phone will latch and not operate upon ringing if it doesn't like its batteries (probably high internal resistance), even though the batteries test good on a battery tester.

Regular AA batteries have a very short life in camera

Regular Alkaline AA's don't last very long you are so right and it's a wonder because they actually pack more power but just don't have the staying power in I'll say most digital point and shoot cameras. I can only suggest that you purchase a four pack of rechargeable batteries and a charger, you will find way more then double the life or use before needing to recharge the batteries.
Again I can only suggest when you are buying rechargeable batteries for your camera look for a new type that will say on the package (no doubt in fine print) that the batteries will hold up to 80% of their power for one year. That is the key to having batteries with power when you want or need the camera. The batteries are only 2000mAh NI-MH but will hold their own up against the 2700mAh I use in some of my other equipment. I first started to use this "new" type of long lasting battery about two years ago first produced under the "Sony" label and have since seen them under no-name labels at the department store check out for a pretty cheap price in comparison but they were batteries only not the charger. So the first hurt is getting four batteries with a charger and you will be good to go. The key think here is to see first if it says on the package ready to use and another holds up to 80% of it's power for one year I use a lot of battery power with remote photography sets and I'll eventually switch my batteries over to this type.
Cheers I know this will help your situation have a great day

Hi, Can I use rechargeable lithium-ion batteries in my Fuji S1730 camera. Thank you. Roy.

Hi Roy,

If your camera uses normal AA or AAA batteries you will have no problems with the rechargeable batteries. If you are considering to buy rechargeable batteries always try to buy the higher mAh range batteries. The higher the mAh the longer battery power will last.

Feel free to share if this solved your question!

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

If it requires AA or AAA,yes you can use rechargables,or I guess any type battery which is made rechargable. They seem to last a little longer too.I am so disappointed how fast my digital camera eats batteries that I am trying to sell it and repair my SLR.
Good luck! Greg

Wharfedale orb cordless phone - battery problem

The positive terminals on AAA batteries come in different heights, with the greatest 3 times the size of the smallest. All DECT phones that use AAA including Wharfedale will only take the ones with the highest terminal. Others will not make contact. Warren. www.activesignal.com

Epson 3100 life battery

I have a 3100z and you are right that alkaline batteries do not last long. The thing to do is buy a couple of sets of NiMH rechargable batteries and they last much longer. I,ve just been on holiday and had no problems at all with the batteries. (Although the camera does not give much warning when they need replacing).
