I have a Dell V313w AllInOne InkJet Printer and when trying to scan from the printer it states: Cannot retrieve application list

    I had this problem with my x4550 lexmark, mainly with windows 7 in the wireless scan process: "cannot retrieve application list". I looked for a solution for sometime, and then it hit me. I think that something is missing in the computer end to answer the for the application list, because, even with Imaging Studio on and my firewall off, it wouldnt be able to answer. Then i looked inside the drivers folders (in my case c:\program files\Lexmark 3500-4500 Series\Drivers\I386) and tried to run manually each application trying to loaded what was missing. I execute all lx*.exe (i still dont know exactly what was missing) and this was the solution.

    On top on that i entered in the http address of the printer and remove the hosts there, and only my actual computer appear automatically after that. This was just to make sure everything was updated, because i already tried before just this step and didnt worl... but now it is working...

    I think the "Delete hosts" is what did the trick for you. That's what fixed mine!

I have a dell p513w printer, and recently it stop printing color copies. I have replaced black and color ink, cleaned and deep cleaned pinhead.

You said the device will not "print" color copies. Have you tried to make a copy of something in color?
Recommend printing out a demo page that should show all colors listed, also do a print head alignment that would show the colors too.

When you put the ink cartridge in the printer did you remove the protective cover first?

Cannot retrieve scan applications list from computer

Check to make sure you have all the appropriate drivers and software installed on your pc; including windows updates. You can also try re-installing the printer.

Enter the model-number of your printer, and do the search.
Select the device-driver for your current Operating System.
Download it.
Install it.
Print a "test" page.
