You could try pressing the reset button on your modem, and restarting your computer. Go to speedtest.net to check your connection speed. If that doesn't fix it, you'll have to call AT&T.

I would call your Internet Service Provider tech support for your DSL and try to solve the issue. It may not be the hardware issue.

How can i download AVG anti virus free addition?i had enter download now bt cant 2 dwnload

Hi,
I recommend you its better using ESET NOD32 instead of AVG more powerfull and uses your system resources less and does not slow down your computer. Safest for preventing your system from todays viruses.

How to get my computer to download files quicker

It depends on where the slow-down is occuring. 1) Use a wired connection instead of a wireless connection. 2) Try directly connecting your computer to your modem (cable or DSL) instead of sharing the network with other computers through a router if a wired network. 3) Upgrade to gigabit networking if you have 10/100 (chose one with support for large chunks of data).

Use a service that tests the download speed (www.dslreports.com/stest ) to find your connection bottleneck. If you have cable broadband, you may need to find a download time when other users aren't very active on your loop.

I hope this helps.

Cannot connect with ATT modem

Connect your pc to the ATT box. If online, check the ip address of the computer. If the ip address is 192.168.1.x, then you just have to change the router ip address. The wrt54g ip is 192.168.1.1, it may be having conflict with the ATT modem. Change the wrt54g ip to 192.168.2.1

Dropping internet connection

Where is your exact location?  You listed ATT DSL so I assume you have ATT DSL as your provider is this right?

I had them for years and I had the same problem.  But its not your setup or your equipment, it is your service provider. You may be on the fringe area of the line signal.  Any drop of power in the line which is already low voltage will cause it to drop out.  The more customers using it the slower it will go.

All you can do is this:

1. check all the house phone lines for aging. If old replace the lines because they cause noise in the lines which degrades the DSL signal.
2. Check the connections at the phone box for signs of corrosion.  Clean the contacts and wiring and reconnect.
3. Make sure you have filters on "ALL" your phones.

4. AFTER you do this( you have eliminated any issues with your equipment)  then contact your service provider and tell them you are getting dropped connections daily.  They should send some one out within a few days to check the signal strength.  They also can check it while you are on the phone with them but not as effectively as them coming out.

Good luck
