HP3050 scan to pdf can't be opened

When I scan a document from my HP Laser Jet 3050 to a .pdf file, the document can not be opened by other computers that I send the file to. However, if I open it and resave it under a new name, the document can be opened by anyone I send it to. So, I have a work around, but it is a pain.

Any suggestions.

I have the same problem and it just happened for the first time last night after using my HP 3015 for over three years. So, I bought and installed a HP M1319 and it did the same thing. Any ideas?

Agalier is not alone. I have exactly the same issue with my HP LaserJet 3050 and pdf files. Once file is opened on PC than did the scanning and saved with a different name, voila the new file can be accessed without problem by another PC on the network. Bizzare!

You need to have HP Solution Center Software installed on your computer to scan to pdf.
Open up HP Solution Center program.
Click on scan document.
Another window open with Document to PDF File highlighted in blue
Click on SCAN box.

Hi, when I scan a document through the feeder in the top of my laser jet 3055 it creates individual pdf's for each page. I know it is possible to have one pdf for the entire document but not sure...

Yes, it is possible, all you need to do is one of two things:

One is use the feeder, that inherently knows multiple copies.

Or use the HP scanner software, (installed on each computer) and add a page.

One detail to watch is the size of the file. it gets quite large easily and certainly with multiple pages.....meaning you cannot e-mail the file sometimes...

Reset your output resolution for your document in the 100 to 150 range. Higher resolutions may be needed for some documents, but not most. This keeps the file size usable with a smaller file size.

Can I scan multiple pages into one doucment with the HP 3050 Deskjet printer?

You can make a document containing all the files you download using applications or programs. If you want to have your text documents in one file, you can use Windows word or Quicken. If you want images you can use ADOBE Photoshop. Just open the document in the same page and save it. That way you can save all the pages in one document.

How to scan a photo using hp 3050 laser jet

I'm running Windows7.
I click the start button.
I click All Programs
I look for and click Windows Fax and Scan
A window opens that is called Fax and Scan
I select new scan at the top. The PC connects with the scanner
Another window opens, and I select my printer scanner
And then I click Scan
This the easiest way that I have found to scan from my AIO

Hp 3050 laser jet printer the fax page is black

The scanner in your FAX is nothing working -- i.e., "100%-black" or "100%-white", and so what is transmitted is what the scanner has scanned, improperly.

Scanning with Laserjet 3050 on IMAC with leopard

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't this printer come with mac drivers? But I am not supprised to head that HP is alienating you. They do the same for Linux users. Although there is a growing base of support coming from HP. Maybe you should switch to Linux.

Can't scan

This sort of thing can be down to the fact the settings for communication to the printer is separate for printing/faxing/scanning. So you will need to find the scanning device (will usually be called HP3050 regardless, or something along the lines of that) and make sure it's set to communicate through USB and no other means.
