Hi,

Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Freezer reads 00 but the frig section reads 57....where is the line to the frig...seems that is plugged

i coud not see the model # of your sub zero . some models like th 550 / 650 use 2 compresors . freezer system maybe ok when fresh food is not . . first thing to do is ck the cond coil up on top and clean it and mk cure the fan is cooling the coil . you moy have a cold control failure . and the fresh food comp may be low on gas . these are the most common cause for your problem .. mm feed back pls ..

Top of my sub zero isn't cold enough and freezer is fine...I had this problem once before and solution was simple...water runs up to frig and it froze so I think I had to turn off frig so it could...

Hi, you can sometimes get away with just turning the fridge off so i would try that first, give it enough to melt and then switch it back on and see what happens, but if after doing that its still got the same problem then it will need it all turning off, usually just turning the fridge off for few hours solves the problem, it does help if you turn the freezer down a bit as well but remember to turn it back up after else you will have soggy food.

so give the above a try it usually works but turning the freezer down a bit usually saves you turning the freezer off so give that a try and see how you get on ok

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as a lot of people cant be bothered than i get a whole page or 5 pages of unrated posts, thanks

Refrig. Won't keep food cold but the freezer works fine. Milk spoils after 3 days in the refrigerator. What's wrong? The thermastat was supposely changed?

If the thermostat has been replaced, then I would take a look at the dampers between the refrigerator and the freezer. Here is why....
All the cooling takes place in the freezer section of the unit, there are passageways with dampers that connect the freezer section to the refrigerator section. If these dampers get stuck in a certain position you will either have not enough cooling or to much cooling. This sounds like it is your issue. Hope this helps.

Have Sub zero side by side 561 Why does the temperature control not increase the cooling of the refrigerator? The milk and vegetables are spoiling.

The fresh food compartment is cooled by air being blown from the freezer compartment into the fresh food compartment. Something is restricting that air flow which causes your fresh food compartment to stay warm.

There is a panel, or door if you will, that separates the freezer and fresh food compartments. The freezer temp control determines how much cold air is allowed to escape into the fresh food compartment by opening or closing this panel.

If the panel is restricted from moving (stuck closed, for example), the freezer will get VERY cold while the fresh food compartment will be warm.

Try thoroughly defrosting the refrigerator. Possibly an accumulation of ice is preventing the panel from moving and/or is restricting air flow from the freezer to the fresh food compartment. It's a free fix and may solve your problem altogether.

If that doesn't help, or helps only temporarily, you may have a problem with panel itself or the linkage that connects it to the control mechanism. Unless you're skilled in appliance repair, checking and repairing these components will require the help of a service technician

Hope this was helpful. Good Luck.

My sub zero model 3211 has frozen ice at the back of the refrigerator. It's cold but doesn't seem cold enough and some food has spoiled before its time. What could be the problem?

if it is a solid ball of ice, that is just growing out of the back wall, then you need a new evaporator. That is leaking gas freezing the wall.

Sub zero refrigerator freezes food

Hello. You need a new cabinet thermistor and while you are at it replace the evaporator thermistor. (The evaporator is the cooling coil behind the back wall of your fresh food section) . These sense the temperature in your frig. Both of them are behind the back wall of your fresh food compartment. You will need a wire crimper and a heat gun or lighter to heat shrink the wire connectors that come with the new ones.

Side by side Sub Zero not cold enough.

How old is "OLDER" ? If there is no frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer you could have one of two problems. On older units the compressor wears out with years of service and no longer pumps efficiently. Or it could possibly be low on refrigerant charge. ether one of these two problems is a sign that is time to update to new unit.

If you have frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer section you then would have a problem in the defrost circuit attributed to the timer, defrost heaters or defrost thermostat.
