I have a singer stylist 833 and while sewing the light went out. When I started to pull down light encasement it went back on...it did this twice and so I removed the bulb. I tried cleaning the connection on both socket and bulb and in trying to put bulb back in it flashed on for a second I am thinking there might be something loose. Also, its a push in bulb but it doesnt seem to "snap in" I was given this machine was wondering if it may be wrong bulb?

Is it the kind that has 2 little nubs on the side? If so, turn it to the right when you insert it. Otherwise, call Singer at 1-800-4singer and ask for their advice.
