Question about Panasonic Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have a Panasonic LCD TX-26LXD60 bought in 2006. Initially occasionally, now almost always, the right half of the screen appears more (or less) lighter than the other half. Moving the TV around its socket or slightly tapping the back or the site of the screen, might improve - or worsen - the problem. I imagine that this might be due to a faulty connection. Can you help? Many thanks. Kim Efa. kimefa@gmail.com.

I have a Panasonic TX-48CX400B and can't find the pip button how do I get split screen off tv.

The PIP mode is only used to show the current source if you are also looking at the Internet portal mode. After you set up your network connection, press the Internet button on the remote to access the network options. (That's the button with the globe and an arrow that curves up from the bottom right of the globe.) Press OK to select an internet option.

See page 28 of the manual for more information. (I found the manual for the TX-48CX400E here, http://www.panasonic.com/uk/support.html , and looking through the list of LCD TV models. Then click on the Downloads link and then choose the version of the manual you want. From here, you need to accept the Panasonic terms of use for their downloads. The direct link to the manual is http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z56564c5ez3z3bebbz656ez706466z23zba9e6b6cadec0298b6a49aa5ad340d60c1bb0f19/pgrp001/pcat033/tx48cx400e/933026/BG1WLCAKK3RR.pdf . This is the same model sold in another country.)

I hope this helps.

I have colored spots appearing on my screen when the TV is on. The spots are 2 to 6 inches in diameter and always appear in the same locations at various places on the screen. The first spots I noticed...

the light engine (optical block) is failing. there are lcd panels and light filters in the light engine. the problem your having is that they over heated and the image is burnt into the lcd or light filter. my be caused by a failing fan or just it's life span. the lcd panel or light filter are done for. you can keep calling panasonic and bug them over and over and they may send you a new tv. sony sent me one after 5 phone calls. i had the same problem. hope this helps.

I have the same one that I bought from Sam's in 2006. My lamp (TY-LA1000) just burned out recently. Most likely that is the same issue for your TV as well. You can buy direct from Pansonic or lookup on one of the many providers online. You can buy the lamp with housing or for less money you can buy just the lamp and use existing housing but will require more time.

My rear projection TV has color spots in the picture, most noticeable on light color picture

What is the make and model of TV. If it is a Panasonic that has different colored spots such as pink, blue etc. Then you need t6o contact Panasonic as this is a memory reset that they have to perform on the LCD driver board. Other brands of LCD projection sets that have spots that appear all over the screen mostly on white back rounds are almost always dust that has settled on the LCD panels. This requires a technician to clean the LCD panels if possible.

Screen projection problems

i think its not necessary to replace the bulb, based on what you have said that the T.V will work when you slap it on the top of the screen. the problem i guess is there is cold solder or loss connection on the CRT board or somewhere in the video or chroma section...

Vertical green lines

Call where you bought the TV. This is not normal for an LCD TV. They should exchange it only being a week old.
