Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
This machine is one year old (just beyond warrantee) and I noticed today that there is a considerable tear in the door seal (along with puckering and discoloration). I use all natural detergent and always leave the door open to dry the drum when we're not using it.
1) Why did this happen?
2) Can we fix it ourselves? How?
Thanks so much!
Tear may be from pulling something across it with sharp edges..to replace seall not major job front part of seal held in place with spring ..remove and pull boot away from front edge inlet tub slides out of boot opening rear held in place with LARGE screw clamp a little patience is usually all that's needed ..did 2 today

Tips for a great answer:
Hello and welcome to FixYa
DL f is a door lock error and is caused due to an issue with the door lock when it is unable to lock/unlock. Please check the door lock mechanism/door switch assembly and replace the part that has gone bad so that the issue is resolved. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
