I have a AVR 3600 Harmon Kardon reciever and once and a while the sound will just cut out then come back on. In the display it will change from dolby digital to another format then just come back on. Any ideas? I did the download update last nite and also did a hard reset. It did it one time after all that was done.

Looks like the Power relay is switching off and on by itself. Chances are that a power capacitor might be going weak. Get in touch with a Harmon technician to fix this.

No sound from tv to speakers

i assume you are hooking up from tv to receiver with an optical cable? Check the settings on your tv. Most tv's have a setting to turn on/off the optical audio output

Harman kardon avr 1500

Try using the RCA outputs once and see if that works..One other thing don't use the phono input on the receiver as it could damage the amplifier

Connecting

did you check this out yet? (from the owners manual)

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the AVR's video output resolution

is set higher than the capabilities of the actual connection,

you will not see a picture. If the best available video connection

from the AVR to the TV is composite video, press this button
and change the resolution to 480i.

Harmon kardon 745 displays "unlock" no sound for tv or movies

I also had this UNLOCK message on my Harman Cardon AVR 130.
The reason for this error was - in a hurry I've plugged the optical input into optical OUT! Double check that your connections in the back are correct and hopefully it fixes your problem.

Cheers,
Sergey
