You will need to research your particular model--there's probably a model number listed on the opener.

I recently bought a Chamberlain 3/4 hp belt drive MyQ garage door opener. I had an old garage door that I thought was bad, I'm not sure now. The old door opener would lift the door about a 1ft to a 1 1/2ft...

How is the door balanced currently? In manual setting (without the opener) can it be raised by hand, will it hold at it's halfway point, and will it hold at fully open?

These all have to be be in balance before adding the opener.

I just replaced my rollers (Ideal Security SK7123 1 7/8-in Deluxe Nylon Rollers Commercial Grade 11 Ball Bearings) and they made a world of difference to quietness and opening. Plus, more importantly, they gave me clues as to the RHS being misaligned.

There are several videos out there dealing with door side to side imbalances also.

Access system for 3/4 hp belt drive works sometimes, however with change in temp, climate conditions, the system does not work at all. a few days later the system will work without any adjustments

Some electronic components become sensitive to temperature changes and will quit working. If you have more than one remote unit and the problem exists with them all then your logic board is bad.

When I hit the button to close the door, the unit hums for a little while then quits. Is there something I can do?

Check to see if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If it is you can either remove the bolt or loosen the chain just a bit to relieve the strain on the chain and then run the opener until the door closes. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor unit and turn it 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Replace the bolt or tighten the chain.

Chamberlain 1/2 HP garage opener main part 41A5389-1 will not close door. Motor stops about 1 ft into travel on screw. Nothing blocking door - can easily open and close door manually. What to do?

If the main light flashes 10 times you have a door sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each sensor is on and not flashing. Tweak them if necessary. If the main light does not flash then you can try increasing the down force just a bit. This is a control on the side of the motor unit where the small gray antenna hangs. If this doesn't work you probably have a bad IR sensor which is a small printed circuit board just in front of the motor.

I have power to the unit, but the opener has no light or power

Check the logic board for loose or burnt traces on the printed circuit especially around the small transformer.

The warranty is over but you can purchase a replacement remote. Take the one that is faulty to any Sears store and they will assist you.
