Question about X2Gen MG19MY 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Blank screen After a storm my monitor does not work. The light is green and I checked the signal w/ another monitor -- no problem there. I read on this site that it is possible that the back light went out but when I pull up the various configuration screens via the monitor buttons I have no problem seeing those screens. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hey...Dude!

Try replaced with another cables, or used a DVI cable instead. Still the same, then it's your inverter that need to be replaced or repaired. Good lucks!

I have an ACER AL1916 monitor. The screen is black and the power light is green and blinking. What does this mean?

not necessarily, its just not receiving signal from the computer check your video card that might be the culprit

Power is on but having blank screen

Check on what the color of your monitor's power indicator is. Usually, if its orange or red, it means it's on but is not receiving any video signal from your pc. If it's green or yellow, it is receiving signal so if your screen is blank, check on your monitor's video settings, like brightness could be set to 0 or try to restore your monitor's default settings. You can find these options on your monitor's menu button.

After a storm the other night my Proview PL866s amber light is blinking - however when I press the amber button (which usually turns green and then it works) nothing is happening except blank screen and...

If this happened after a storm, the monitor may have been subjected to a power surge, which unfortunately might have killed it.

If you have another monitor (or a friend who has one) try plugging that other monitor into your computer. If the second monitor works, yours will need to be replaced as the input was probably destroyed by the power surge.

If the second monitor also doesn't work, there may be a problem with your computer, most likely with the power supply (this is the part most often damaged by a power surge). You may want to have it examined by a professional computer repair person at that point.

Hope this is helpful!

Power on - blank (black) screen

Disconnect the monitor signal cable from PC and switch on your monitor. It should show some logo with Red, Green and Blue colors with a message similar to "No signal". If so, your monitor is working fine. Sometimes if the brightness and contrast is set to zero using controls present in the monitor, it will not show up anything. check wheather somebody set your monitor brightness and contrast to zero. If so incease them. As a last try connect to different PC and check before approaching a service center. I hope this will help you out. :)

Screen Goes Blank

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

Dell172fpb 17" monitor

Self-Test Feature Check (STFC) Your monitor provides a self-test feature that allows you to check whether your monitor is functioning properly. If your monitor and computer are properly connected but the monitor screen remains dark, run the monitor self-test by performing the following steps:
  1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
  2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer. To ensure proper Self-Test operation, remove Analog (blue connector) cables from the back of computer.
  3. Turn on the monitor. The floating 'Dell - self-test Feature Check' dialog box should appear on-screen (against a black background) if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly. While in self-test mode, the power LED remains green and the self-test pattern will scroll through the screen continually.
  4. Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn on both your computer and the monitor.
If your monitor screen remains blank after you use the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly.

Thanks

Can't find video signal

If screen says "Signal cable not connected " all the time till power led switches to Amber chances are monitor is ok and problem is with graphic card or cpu.Connect to Known working CPU and confirm that monitor is the problem.
If same problem persists on another working cpu after changing signal cable, the interface board in the monitor could be defective.

Monitor won't come on after unplugging for an electrical storm

Is it plugged into an integrated soundcard on the motherboard or is it plugged into a Graphics card either a PCI or AGP? If it is integrated, you may want to look into a different video card for both better video quality and system performance. Let me know if this doesn't work.

Green light blinking screen blank

Hi Suzee,

Is the green flashing on the tower or the monitor?

If it is flashing on the monitor, then it might be tht the monitor is not gettign signal from the tower.
To check, disconnect the monitor from the tower and check the monitor. If you get a msg on the screen like no input signal or check video cable, then 99% monitor is fine.

Check for the power supply light at the back of the tower.

Disconnect everything from the computer and then press and hold the power button on the comp for about 30 seconds.

Then connect the cables and check if it is working.

Blank screen

Similar monitor, similar problem. I actually had to dismantle the thing and replace a transistor on the mainboard.

If you're not into soldering and such, good luck.
