You just need to power cycle your modem, router and computer
This is how to you do it Turn off modem, router and computer for about 30 seconds, Then after 30 seconds plug the modem back in wait for all tyhe light to be solid then turn the power for the router and also wait for the lights to be solid then restart the computer back.

If there is no internet after that connect the computer directly to modem and restart the modem and check if you have internet..

Hope that helps........

Dear Sir/Madam,

Check with the options that u have installed the software correctly or not? . Do u have the software cd's if it is provides you a number of "innovative" features to help you share your connection, get online and do it all with the knowledge that you aren't going to get hacked. There is a quick automatic or manual setup procedure to run through where you type the your key data about your ISP and it does the rest for you. For the installation process to complete you must have it connected to an ADSL connection.

Thanks
Good luck

    Dear sir/madam,

Check the router backside there is an small hole is there called RESET. U click this button with ballpoint pen. And unplug the power and again power it. After doing that, go to the browser type your IP address(would be found on Start->Programs>Run->Type Cmd->Type IPCONFIG, it will show your ip address.)

Then type your IP address on your browser it will open to ask user id and password.
    Type user id: admin
    Password : admin

This is the default user id and password. It will open your Router software. Check the settings it will show connected or not? Also give your ISP user id and password on that router software page.
    It will be fixed.

    Thanks
    good luck

Hi,

Initially, access the setup page (192.168.2.1) and copy the WAN settings (IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS). Thereafter do a reset. On reboot of router, manually enter the WAN settings (Static IP Add). On the computer, try first using "Obtain an IP address automatically", if that does not work, manually configure the IP settings of your computer by entering 192.168.2.3, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and default Gateway 192.168.2.1. Therefter try if you can now connect to the Internet.

If not pls post back any error messages encountered.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post as requested, back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

You have to check the ip address throw by the router that has to be a public ip example 192.168.1.8 if not then reset the router you will see a reset button at the back of the router hold it down for 45 seconds and then release it that should refresh the local ip as a public ip and then you can connect. for further details please write.

I am using a Belkin N1 Vision router with Vonage and i am having no issues with speed at the moment. What OS and connection are you using. If its Vista and Wireless make sure you are using AES encryption and not TKIP as my wireless network was painfully slow using TKIP and lightning with AES and WPA2

No you can't use two routers (without being an expert to set them up correctly!). Make sure the Belkin isn't plugged in while you're setting up the D-Link. To diagnose the culprit, try these steps:

1) Plug your daughter's computer directly into the ethernet port of the DSL or Cable Modem. You'll need to do this to rule out your Daughter's PC as the problem. If it works fine, then move to step 2. If her computer still isn't working, and another computer connected the same way DOES work - then you need to work on your daughter's computer, becasue that's where the problem lies.

2) Ok since you confirmed your daughter's PC is just fine - and also the DSL or Cable connection is working as well - this indicates most likely the router(s) are at fault. So let's work with the D-Link, since we're not sure if the Belkin is working. Like I said, be sure the Belkin is completely unplugged and powered OFF. Now plug the D-Link into your DSL or Cable modem ethernet port. Turn on the D-Link, make sure the correct indicators are lit on both the DSL/Cable modem and the router. Reboot your daughter's PC and right-click on the wireless networking icon on her taskbar. Choose view available wireless networks - if you see your D-link listed, then the router is working! If you still can't connect - try disabling WEP/WAP and try again. Most likely it's just a security setting that's off.

Good Luck!

I have just got a Belkin N1 vision wireless modem router. I have set it up and have it working ok on a Unsecure wireless network. But as soon as I try to secure the network. I get the following message...

Hi,

Right-click on the network icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, Press Connect to a Network. You should see your wireless network in the list. Before you secured it, you could automatically connect to it because it was unsecured. Now you will have to double click on it and enter the username and password you secured your router with.
Once you have done that, there should be a box for you to tick that says 'Automatically connect to this network'. Tick that.
Done.

Hope this helps

CONNECTION PROBLEMS WITH BELKIN N1 ROUTER /MODEM

YOU CAN RESET THE ROUTER TO FACTORY SPECS IF YOU INSERT A PIN INTO THE TINY HOLE IN THE BACK. THEN YOU WILL NEED TO LOOK UP THE MANUAL TO TELL YOU HOW TO SET IT UP. Sorry about the caps. The button stuck.
Are you trying to go wireless? Wireless settings will need to be passworded as per the manual. Your computer will have to have wireless connection and it will need to be set up correct also. Default settings usually work. The drivers will allow you to set up the wireless card in the computer. Go to the web site and find the drivers and the manual. This can not be done by one of us here. We can help after you have done everything that I told you to do but it will work if you follow my directions.

Belkin Wireless Modem Router problem

well, first of all the i also have the N1 belkin wireless modem router, in order for it to connect, there has to be a wireless connection in your area for you to connect to, if any of your neighbors so have wireless you can connect to their network, but if you are not getting a conection that means no one around you has wireless or lan, the belkin wireless is not a internet provider it just extends the distance of your internal wireless. some networks may be secured as well, sometimes you can only connect to unsecured networks unless you have the name and passcode for the secured network.

I have set up my N1 Belkin Wireless modem router and the wired PC works fine, but i am not able to connect to the router through any of my wirelss devices, it tells me there is no signal being received....

Did you check how powerful the router is? How strong the receiver is? That is why you are not getting a signal. Also if you go to the connections you can search for wireless connections that the receiver can see.

Hope This Helps

When using the Belkin G router the network connection becomes lost and can not get on the internet. My computer has Vista on it and Belkin says that the router is compatible with the program.

This is possibly caused by your firewall or the wireless security (wpa/wep) on the router if you have set it up.
First of all, if you can connect to the internet via a cabled connection the problem is going to be with the way you've set the router up.
If you've setup wireless security on the router, have you also set it up for your wireless adaptor?.
I suggest you try to connect to the internet via cable to start with, if this works try to connect wirelessly with your firewall off.
If all else fails start from the beginning again.

I purchased a Belkin N1 Wireless USB adapter recommended to me by PC World but it is not working correctly. It WILL locate my network but will NOT allow internet access on it. I did ask specifically in the...

Hi there!

Theoretically, it should work with each other. I didn't find any documentation at Belkin's site that states the N1 USB adapter being not compatible with 3rd party devices like your Netgear router.

From what I know is N-Draft's wireless technology should be backwards compatible with both wireless-B and wireless-G devices.

1. Do you have other working wireless devices at your network during that time that you have the N1 USB adapter?
2. Were you able to connect to your wireless network? If Yes, what was your IP address at the wireless computer incase you had the chance to check it?

Maybe you can try to inquire with Belkin about what you've encountered with their device for clarification.

Hope this helps!
