My son in is infinite wisdom decided to reinstall windows xp without back up. At the moment i am using 02 to connect. I just cannot figure out how to get my thomson 585v8 up and running.

You reset the router by pressing on the little button at the back then just connect a LAN cable to it, open the router's config menu by going to its page with a browser - - then input the account data you got from your ISP in the modem setting .

Wireless router has stopped working

Unplug the router for 10 seconds, then reconnect everything. After plugging it back in, look at the back of the router. Immediately to the left of the antenna is a little hole where a factory reset button resides. You may need to use a pencil or pen to push it in, but push and hold for about 5 seconds. This will reset it back to factory defaults, which should get you connected.

On the back of the router, there is a little tiny reset button, you will need to use a small object like a toothpick to push that button. Hold it down for a full 15 seconds and release. Immediately unplug both the router and cable box power supplies and wait an additional 15 seconds. Plug the cable box back in first, then the router afterward.

Need to reset siemens se 587 router

please verify it's a se 587 because I found no routers with that info...... However this being said to do a 'hard reset' meaning it will reset the router to the factory default... on the back of most routers will be a small little hole the tip of a pen/penicl or paperclip will fit. Press in there and you will push a button and hold for 20 seconds or if possible and you can see the front if you see all the lights flash twice and then power down. This should reset the router

We recently had to wipe our computer and reinstall windows, since then we cannot connect to the internet via our router (like we used to, and like we can with our laptop), there is nothing showing when you...

Alot of times when you have a computer that was just reloaded and hooked back up to the router and it doesnt work, most times the router and cable modem just needs to be reset. Turn off the computer.  Then on the router itself, on the back of the router is a little pinhole. Take a paperclip or a pin and stick it in the hole and press the button inside the hole. After doing so the router lights will start flashing and eventually go back to normal. Do the same for your Cable Modem .Then turn your computer on and then go into network connections to see if your computer is back on the network.                                                                  Hope this helps                                                                    Joe < Data Miner >
P.S. Added note:  You might want to double check in your network properties That your NWLink/Netbios and  Tcp/Ip  is installed.  Inorder to get there, click on network places,  view network connections,  and then right click on Local Area Connection. Left click on Properties and then see if NetBios is in there....

Loosing linksys Router instructed cd to set up

Have had many time problems with the router:

Do the following: If you have a router and a linksys modem do it to both.
Disconnect the power source from the router and disconnect the ethernet cable wait about 30 seconds .. plug back in the power sources (do not just pull the plug that goes into the wall...... remove the black little cord that plugs into the router)
In some cases (if the above doesn't work the first time..) you may also want to completely unscrew the coaxial cable from your broadband provider ) and wait 30 seconds or a minute and follow through with the unplug resetting..
Note: there are also reset features on the back of your modem and router.. it never hurts to use those once in awhile

on router.. there little button that pops out in the back .. just hold it in for 2 0r 3 seconds and release..
on modem... SEE that tiny little hole between the power supply and the ethernet plug.. carefully insert a paper clip into the you won't get electrocuted.. and GENTLY push the reset ...
Hope this helps.
