There is some internal problem, maybe you must reheat the IC's inside or there is probably defective parts. Try if it oscillates if you turn it on by monitoring the collector voltage and it must be around 100 to 135 volts.

I have one of these in my shop with same problem. Unit has sound but no backlights due to the powersupply/inverter board ( top board in metal box. The lights come on for a second and go out. Problem was originally intermittent. You can order this board from Fox Intl Part but will take a minimum of 12 weeks. Look at the lower right corner of this board and locate the dip switch of 4 positions. the bottom one is labeled " normal & burn " Try moving it to "burn" My set is in the burn position and has been running for 2 days now OK
Turn it [the TV] on its RIGHT side......... slowly press the eject button once every second. Pay attention to gears winning [as if something is trying to catch. If that don't work try it on its LEFT side. The gears have to be on one of the sides. If you continue to have the same problem, u need to replac the PLASTIC gear assembly.
I am currently have the same problem . I just got off the phone with the support tech and he suggested unplugging TV for about 5 minutes and if that doesnt work to unplug TV for about 2 hours. He said that may reset the TV . I am waiting now. If it works , I will leave feedback.
