Remove battery from drill

Most batteries are held in place by one or two clips. Make sure these are depressed and then try sliding the battery off the drill. It is possible that being new that the battery is slightly tight or that it was not inserted squarely so will need slightly more force to remove, just make sure the clips are depressed.

I bought a draper 500w hammer drill. instructions are not straight forward. I don't know how to get started with it. Do I have to plug it in first and how do I start drilling? C

Plug it in ... insert a drill ... tighten the chuck (the thing you put the drill into) ... pull the trigger ... drill the hole.

There should be a collar around the chuck that will select hammer or no hammer --- or there may be a pin to pull near the chuck. There may also ge a clutch on the collar. Play with it so to say, it will soon be self evident how it works.

The only time you will use the HAMMER setting is when you are drilling with a SPECIAL CARBIDE TIP drill into CONCRETE or other non wood - non metal - conctete or clay product (brick).

Had this battery on charger for months. removed it pluged it into drill and it started getting hot.removed from drill, heat reached 138 degrees before subsiding. this is the second time the same thing...

the battery is supposed to be removed from the charger as soon as fully charged ,otherwise it will cause the battery to malfunction and eventually die

Drill stopped work ing when hot. One drill we bought stopped after 10 6mm holes. The others work when you pull the trigger and then sometime they don't.

Sounds like a burned out motor.

Sometimes you can replace the brushes and make them work again.

When operating that drill, make sure that you are not overheating the motor.

Depending on the material that you are drilling, you may need to use the drill on a slower speed in order to not overheat the motor.

Another way is to have more than one drill, and switch to a cool one as soon as you notice heat on the in-use drill.

If your drill is battery powered, stop using the drill and change the battery as soon as the battery dies enough to slow the speed of the drill.

Operating the drill under reduced power is very hard on the motor for several reasons.

Craftsman power drill - batteries wont recharge. When I insert dead batteries into the charger The green light ''Fully charged'' comes on and stays on. The batteries do not charge as when they are inserted...

the battery's are most likely dead, (like the real dead) after many uses of rechargeable battery's they slow stop holding charge at all, make sure when you get a new rechargeable battery you fully charge it once and fully discharge it once this will increase batterys life time

The battery is 14.4 volts so the charger should be 14.4 volts.
