Why does my kitchenaid k5-a get hot?

It is likely to be one of two things, Too much friction in one of the gear or motor bushes or a faulty motor armature. Put it on high and switch it off at the wall, if it seems to stop rather quickly then look for a binding bush. If it stops over several planetary revolutions then I'd be looking at the motor. A Kitchen Aid service person will easily be able to sort it out for you.

Squeak while mixing.

That sounds like the accessory drive is binding in the bush in the front housing. Don't use it and think seriously about getting it to a Kitchen Aid service agent. No good will come of forcing the issue. If you never use any accessories in that front drive you could consider asking them to remove the gear and put it back together again without it. If you force it to continue eventually the fuse gear will fail and you could even wreck the gear that drives the planetary. The accessory gear will need to be replaced and if the bush is damaged enough the top housing will need to be replaced as the bush is not available separately.

The bushing in my kitchenaid KSM 90 cracked in half, how do I get it out of the hole?

Try tipping the mixer on it's side. the brush holder is a solid brass piece that goes all the way to the armature. You might also try fishing with a hat needle or a dental pick. If it truly is stuck in there and will not come out you are into a complete motor tear down to remove the brush holder to get at the culprit..

Hobart D300 is stuck in speed 3, any ideas?

Best guess is that the gear for 3rd speed is seized together with it's brass bushing and the center, large transmission shaft. I don't recall which gear is for 3rd, but the transmission has two gears (2nd and 3rd speed) which have brass bushings in them. The brass bushing should spin freely on the center shaft (when in final position - sometimes they pull off the shaft tough, but spin freely when in final position, my opinion is that this is OK), and the gear should spin freely of the brass bushing.
My guess is that the 3rd speed gear, being seized to the center shaft, cannot freely idle on the center shaft, which would result in being stuck in 3rd gear.

Kp2671 quits spinning under heavy load and making a grinding sound. What part might it be?

This is usually assocciated with the wearing of the Bushes in the shaft as there is play. This norrmally develops on a period of time due to water and dirt accumulation.
You will need to remove the drive and put in new bushes to suit for a tight setting.

The BUSH on the spindle is worn out. You will notice that liquid blending might make the liquid to flow out through this . If so it is confirmed. This is usual as the food particles gets caught on and wear off the bush in due time.
the blade unit has to be taken out and the bush must be changed after choosing the right bush for the steel spindle.
You can confirm rotating the spindle and see if this shakes.
Hope this tip confirms the fault.
