I had the same error and I just did the following and it reset the printer back to defaults and things are working once again.
1) Turn printer off (pull power cord)
2) Press Cancel button on top of printer
3) Turn power back on (plug in power connector)
4) Keep pressing Cancel button untill it looks like it reset

I held both the menu bottons down (Copy "menu" and Photo "menu") while the power was on and it went into a self diagnosis mode and after about a 10 minute self check it come back up and spit out a self diagnostic print out with event codes and status. seems to be fine now without resetting anything else.

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on and wait for 20 seconds.
2. Then, press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord.
Continue holding until it displays Semi Full Reset message in the front panel of the All-in-One.
The printer will turn off or shows Semi Full reset message.

I had bought a HP Photosmart B110 wireless printer that worked perfectly well until just it was a couple of months out of warranty. For those whose don't own an HP printer, then don't buy one because HP are not interested when it is out of warranty. That is not interested in anything other than selling you repairs or or new printer. It looks from a simple Google search that these things are designed to fail very soon after warranty. All I did was unplug the printer and then plug it back in. Search for the magic error code 83C00009 which appears on the screen and you can't make the printer do anything else. I will never buy another HP printer or laptop.

I have an hp c410a we had a powerful storm yesterday and knocked out the power the screen on the printer has a blue screen with the 83c00009 on it i was told that i had a power surge and now my printer is toast, so what is so good about surge protectors if this happens. and the printer is only a year and 7mths old
