Have 4 - 12 alpine type R in custom box made just for them. Hooked up to a JL 1000 slash 1v2 mono. They all have power but when i really crank it one of them pops a little. Theres no way that amp could be...

It may not necessarily be pushing the subs to the blowing point, but you amp may be clipping. If you amp reaches a certain point where is strains for power, it cannot reproduce the frequency. The result is a "popping" sound. Your right in that the amp couldn't be doing that. Another thing to check is what is the ohm load on the amp. Is the amp 2 ohm or 1 ohm stable. You could be damaging the amp if it is not wired correctly. Hope this helps.

I have 3 alpine type r 2 ohms each and hiffonics brutus 1500

Assuming that when you say 2ohm you mean that both coils on the subs are 2ohm. If this is true then wire the individual subs in series to make 3 4ohm subs, then wire 'em all together in parallel to your amp so your amp will run at 1.333 ohms, and your subs will see about 400watts rms a piece, because wiring it at 1.333 ohms reduce output by about 20% but this is the best you're gonna get w/o going under amp's stability which is highly unrecommended. Besides those puppies'll still slam hard! Hope this helps...

I just wired my alpine type 12 4 ohm subwoofer to two ohms by putting the two red runners in the positive terminal and the two black runners to the black terminal and hooked the wires up to the outside...

If you have the Alpine SWR-1222D, that's a dual 2 OHM Sub. So, the way you have it hooked up to the amp ,it's 1 Ohm, and unless your amp can safely operate at 1 OHM, you are better off connecting the voice coils in series so the amp will see 4 OHMS. The link below will show how the connections are made to the amp. Look at example # 1.

I have a set of Alpine Type R 12 inch subs... I have a 1500 watt amp powering them but when I turn the music up, the bass cuts out. Where should I start looking for the problem?

ground is loose(most likely amp), battery running low, subs might be damaged? feel free to keep me in touch if problem occurs more after checking grounds and power source and subs. Also might need to re-tune your head unit and amp?

How to wire 2 ohm 2 12ich alpine type r's to box terminals?

Dual 4 ohm subwoofers can only be wired @ 1 ohm, 4 ohm or 8 ohm.
2 ohm mono load is not possible.
You will need to use (1) subwoofer to get the 1000W out of the amp.
Wire both positives on one sub to + on amplifier and both - on the same sub to - on amplifier to give the amplifier a 2 Ohm load.
Add a second amplifier, or buy an amplifier that is 1 ohm mono stable.
You can wire both to the amplifier at 4 ohms 600W, but they will share the power and only see 300W ea.
