Question about Canon PIXMA MP830 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Canon mp830 I cannot get any power to my unit. It went off at some point, but will not cut back on. I have tried other electronic units in the same outlet and they work. It was plugged into a surge protector and the other items plugged into that same units are still working.

My problem is identical. We don't have a storm, but something knocked out the electricity for an instant, and now my mp830 appears to be DEAD. It was in fact in the middle of printing a document.

I, too, tried another cord. (Must be instinct.) I have now turned it off inhope that the guy who suggested the 20 minute rest knew what he was talking about!

When it wouldn't come back on after the electricity went off, I tried the suggested 20-minute rest for my Canon MP830. When I plugged the printer in again after 20 minutes, it was fine!

My canon mp830 shows me a error code 6A00 on the mini screen what must i do to fix this

Try this:
1. Opening the cover and wait for ink carriage to center
2. Pull out power cord
3. Pushed carriage to far left (should slide easily)
4. Used paper towel and wiped purge unit a lot of times (press down to soak paper towel with ink). Repeat until the paper towel is relatively clear.
5. Used diluted napisan (oxygen-based cleaning agent in the ratio of 1:3 with powder:water) and soaked paper towel
6. Repeat step 4 with wet paper towel. Repeat until purge unit is near-white.
7. Pulled and pushed clear plastic wiper (north of purge unit) and wiped it down
8. Slided carriage back to original position
9. Removed Print head cartridge and wiped out excess ink stuck on bottom.
10. Plugged power back on.

If It can not bring it to service center

Error 6A00 MP830. Will not respond to anything. I have checked all areas for paper and found none.

A few steps to try, in this order:

1> Power off: Press & hold On/Off button (or unplug if not responding)
Wait 10 seconds before pressing On/Off and allow unit to cycle.

2> Press Stop/Reset and On/Off to reset.

3> Unlock the Scanner Lock switch and Power off then back on.

Power went off and unit will not turn back on. How do I get it to power up again

You may have to remove the printhead to power up again, if thats the case then you need a new printhead..#qy6-0061-000 around $45.00. Otherwise the power supply or main PCB is bad.

MP830 6A00 error & ON/OFF switch not working

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Error Code 6A00 for MP830

try simply moving the cartridge back and forth a few times first

Because: 6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit. Follow Canon's suggestion, take it or send the unit UPS to the Authorized Repair Facility. You will NOT be able to resolve the problem yourself.

Printer wont turn on

If you unplug the unit from the power source and wait about 10 minutes, it will reset the power supply. Plug it back in and press the power buttion. If this does not work, you may need to take it to a service center for repair.

Canon MP830 power outage while printing

My MP830 did the same thing today. I thought it was toast. However through a Google search I found the following suggestion.

Unplug the MP830 for 20 minutes or more. Plug the MP830 back in and hit the power button.

To might great relief my MP830 powered up and is working just fine.
