Dont shut it down! Buy a new laptop!

or, more practically, have a look in BIOS setting and see if you can turn off the on-board screamer (Prob doesn't go by that name), also check that no keys are stuck down when the power plug is in!

I have seen this behavior when a key is stuck in the down position. While the laptop is off, press down each key, one by one, and ensure that the key is returning to its resting position. If a key is sticky, press and release it a few times to try to free the key up.

Power on the laptop and see if the beeping stops. If you can tolerate the beeps, let the laptop run for a few moments to see if an error message appears. If you see a keyboard error, then you can try working the keys again.

If there has been some sort of liquid spilled on the keyboard, it may need to be replaced.

I would try reseating the RAM (memory).

Consult ASUS's website for instructions on exactly how to remove the RAM, but usually there's a little panel on the underside of your laptop with one or two screws, remove it & look for the RAM. Pull it out, wait 20 seconds or so, put it in, reboot. See if that helps.

My Liberty Pumps battery alarm is chirping after having been unplugged accidentally. I plugged it back in, but it's still chirping. How long will it take to recharge and stop the chirping?

In the event the 9V battery is low, the alarm will emit a short chirp about twice per minute. The 9V battery should be replaced any time the yellow "low battery" indicator on the alarm unit is lit or every 12 months.
What you plugged back in is the ac power to pump alarm

ASUS Eee PC Seashell series notebook will power up for a second and then go out

Remove the main battery and try again, have the power supply charger checked to make sure it is working properly, if okay the DC jack in the laptop is a common source of trouble. The unit will need to be taken apart to assess the motherboard.

Hi I am trying fix my niece's ASUS eee T91 which goes to a black screen with a cursor on booting up. I get no response at all after this. I can press shift and f10 to get into bios setup but dont...

Hello,

You may try this; Turn OFF the laptop, remove the power sources (ac adapter and battery). Without power sources, hold power button 10 secs. Put back the power sources, and power ON the laptop. If the laptop will not boot by doing this, take it to the nearest repair center to have it check for possible motherboard issue.

Also, you may try to boot in safe mode. Tap continuously the F8 when you turn ON the laptop until you reach the advance boot option. Select safe mode and let it load. Once loaded in safe mode, do the system restore. To do system restore, follow this:
  • Open System Restore by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore.? 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.png If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If it does go to safe mode or if same problem will persist after the system restore. You need to do system recovery or reformat the system. Some laptops provides Recovery disc, some has it on the HDD. You may contact ASUS tech support to know the recovery option for your model.

Good luck.

My keyboard on my ASUS g73jw-a1 no longer lights up. I turned it off once and it won't turn back on.

This looks as if its a newer model laptop. If it's w/in a year old, I would contact tech support as it may be hardware issues or a loose connection. They should be able to take you through troubleshooting steps. Otherwise, they may have you send it in for repairs.

This might do the trick:
  1. Remove the AC adapter, Battery and all other power sources
  2. Press the power button for 20 a 30 seconds. (Bios is now resetted)
  3. Put everything back in and try to boot;).

Hard Drive Alarm & Refuses to boot up

Either your OS is corrupted or you have a serious hard drive issue. Not uncommon for the latter to go without any real warning.

Get a hold of the diagnostics software for your drive and run it. Don't be surprised if it fails.
