My lg tu500 keeps saying insufficient memory even though there is nothing on the phnone, no contacts, no photos or messages, no walpapers or screensavers, have two ringtones only yet also will not allow me to take photos, yet another member has exact same phone without the problems....

Check your sent items and outbox folder to see if the you have any multimedia messages stored using up space...
If not then the image you are trying to send could be too large to send and save... Even though you have it set on Memory Card memory, the phone still uses its internal memory for things like the actual sending if you dont have enough space on the handset, it will show the message above
go into phone settings - memory manager - handset common memory and tap clear all. This worked for me i took my memory card out just to be on the safe side
Yeah it's pretty common. If you don't have a memory card, then it's cause you have too many photos/songs etc on the phone taking up memory. If you do have one, make sure you have everything saved to it and then go into the settings and clear the phone memory.
That'll fix it.
I suggest reducing the size of the SD card to a 512mb and you should have no problem. There have been problems with the 1GB for these phones and I mhave 2 of these phones and they both have 512mb with no problem any larger and they keep giving error messages
