Dont know about the reset button, but i had the same system error message with my camera, which has been in a drawer for 3 years since i got the message. just found it tonight, was researching it and apparently coolpix lenses tend to stick, found some references to other models(not sq). i decide to try taling it apart to have a go at the lens, but tried the easier and more satisfying turning it on and off 6 or 7 times while banging on the body beside the lens, which seems to have worked. systems error gone , camera turns on, i've taken 20 or so pics, no probs so far.
I'm sorry that the Camera
is displaying the error message. "TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN"
displays on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by
any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the
error message, try doing a power reset. Please follow the below steps to
perform a power reset.
·
Turn off the camera.
·
Remove the battery pack.
·
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
·
Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
·
Reinsert the battery pack.
·
Turn on the camera.
Also tryinitializing the Cameraif
you're able to access the Menu items on the Camera. The Initialize option will
be available under Setup or Main settingsSub
Menus.
If the issue persists again, service is required.

the service center near your area.
