Dont know about the reset button, but i had the same system error message with my camera, which has been in a drawer for 3 years since i got the message. just found it tonight, was researching it and apparently coolpix lenses tend to stick, found some references to other models(not sq). i decide to try taling it apart to have a go at the lens, but tried the easier and more satisfying turning it on and off 6 or 7 times while banging on the body beside the lens, which seems to have worked. systems error gone , camera turns on, i've taken 20 or so pics, no probs so far.

My Panasonic TZ25 says "System Error - Focus". What should I do?

Panasonic DMC TZ25 compact camera - System Error (Focus)
- Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera (suggested by Andrea Lock, above). I actually had to try this several times as camera was refusing to reset properly, but after a few goes, lens retracted and camera began to work again. Thanks Andrea.

I have a Canon PowerShot A430 camera. When I turn it on, the lens doesn't open and it shuts off. The message on the screen says " Lens error, restart camera." Please advise. Thanks

Hi,

The Lens Error is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.
Performing a manual power reset
Turn off the camera.
Remove the battery pack.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
Reinsert the battery pack.
Turn on the camera.
You can reset the Camera back to factory default by performing the following steps:
Press the power button.
Press and hold the MENU button for more than 5 seconds. Default Settings will get displayed.
Use the arrow buttons to select OK and press the FUNC./SET button. This will reset all the settings back to factory deafult.
This should resolve the issue. If the issue persists, service may be required.

I have a Sony DSC-T1 and it is displaying a flashing error message E61:10. . The screen is blurry and I can't do anything! It had the CCD chip replaced by Sony free of charge previously - is this the same...

Hi,

In DSCT1 Camera, the E:61:10 error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. This message can be clearly identified by the help of a Sony Authorized service technician. Each of these codes indicates the symptoms and resolutions of the Camera. The E error code indicates the internal hardware malfunction with the Camera. This issue is not related to the CCD Image Sensor replacement.
Try the steps given below to check if the issue can be resolved.

· Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.
Also, try resetting the Camera back to factory default by pressing the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object. The RESET button is located at the lower right side of the control buttons.
Please make sure that the Camera is turned ON before you reset it.

Good Luck!!
