Grand theft auto is not working it loads up but then says i have a dirty disc i think it's something to do wit the xbox 360 ?

Is the game rented or is it store bought? Most rented games have problems like that because of people just messing around with the disc cause the dont own it but if its store bought then there is probably a big scratch under the disc lamination.

try cleaning the disk , if that does not work perhaps you need to get the xbox serviced

Either clean your disc with a soft cloth or open your disc tray and gently blow into it to clear out any excess dust

i have had a similar problem with the same game, i took it into gamestation and you know how they have that disk repair machine thing, it worked a treat and my game was working good as new.

I have the basic 360 that came with nothing. Um this actually did happen with me a few times when I first bought the game. Exept my problem was a little different. 30 or so minutes into playing the game it would come over the side the game was unreadable or dirty. I had just bought the thing from wal-mart so I knew it was neighter. I just went out and bought one from game stop. Game stop seems like the best place to buy games anymore.
