Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Hi , my Karcher water blaster makes a horrible repetitive surging noise when its powered on but not when its actualy blasting. I suspect its the pump bypassing. Pressure is also down on what it used to be. Is the pump at fault here?

Thanks for the help. I stripped the pump down and the piston seals are worn.

Pump doesnt properly work on full pressure, sounds like it is stopping and starting, does this from half pressure upwards. It will pump out at low pressure, but doesnt **** from detergent resevoir. I have tried the inlet filters and lance to make sure they are all clean, I have also tried the power supplies

Is there dribbling water coming out of the casing if you plug in the incoming hose but don't switch it on? This is usually the case. Either the seals have worn on the pistons (usually 3) or you have a cracked pump casing.

Will not heat we replaced both elements but still no hot water rheem model no.82v522marlene we suspect we had a power surge during last storm because the furnace went out also at the same time

Hi I suspect your thermostat will have also been damaged if you had a surge I always replace thermostats at the same time as the elements
Also check the wiring as sometimes surges can melt the copper core of the wiring, but be careful always turn off the power first before any electrical works!

I purchased a reconditioned Karcher 4000 and upon first use, the spray surges. It will go down to almost nothing then back up to full blast in about 5 second increments. Any advice?

Bleed the system by running water without the unit on, You have an air lock, open the drain cocks and allow water to run slowly for 2 minutes, then close everything and try it

The motor keeps surging

If there's a lot of sediment in your water supply, there's a chance that sediment has gummed up the pressure switches. I'm assuming it has a full power switch and high power switch. It runs on full power until a pressure switch is satisfied, and runs on low power to slowly build the pressure back up, at which a second switch is satisfied from the pressure and turns the motor off. These things are not easy to work on, and are made of metal probably too fragile to try any chemicals. You should probably contact the manufacturer.

Karcher Power Washer that surges up and down with water pressure.

Before you start it up:
1. Disconnect the high pressure hose 2. Connect the water supply and turn on 3. Make sure water is flowing through the pump
Start the motor, run for about 10 seconds and then turn off.
Turn off the water supply, connect the high pressure hose, turn water back on, start the motor and away you go.
