My acer aspire m1641 lost operation system,

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

How resstore my acer aspire to factory settings?

There should have been a recovery disk created or included when you bought a laptop. Insert disk if you have it and restart your computer with the recovery disk in the CD drive. Make sure all your documents and personal data are backed up. When the computer restarts it should start restoring your computer to the factory default. There will be a wizard to guide you through the process. If there is not a disk, then follow this steps:
1.Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive.
2.Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook.
3.Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load.
4.Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen.
5.Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted.
6.Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

hope this helps,Goodluck..

Acer Aspire AST180-ED380M was working very slow and locking up; did a system restore; then had to reinstall operating system (computer error message); now it seems to time out and reboot automatically,...

Sounds like the CPU is overheating. The usual cause is the CPU heatsink and fan need cleaning. Take the side cover off and have a look see. Also, it's possible that the heatsink may have come loose and isn't making good contact with the CPU. In either case you may need some CPU paste. Also check any case fans to make sure they are working.
After checking those things, suspect the power supply, memory, and possibly the hard drive.

How to reset the bios on an acer aspire idea 510

Insert the original "System Restore" CD/DVD into the CD/DVD drive.
Restart the computer.
Press a key to "change boot order".
Choose to boot from the CD/DVD drive.
Does your computer start to read the disk, and start to load something?

If so, then there's _nothing_ wrong with your computer that _WOULD_ be corrected by doing a "reset" of the BIOS. Put differently, try a "reset" of the BIOS *ONLY* as the _LAST_ thing that you try.

It's more likely that your 'C:' drive has a problem that prevents Windows from loading.

Take your computer to a qualified technician, for more trouble-shooting.

I rebooted and used the system recovery discs from the Geek Squad and now it won't read the Windows Vista system disc. Any ideas?

Telephone ACER, and order the correct set of "System Restore" CD/DVD disks for your model of computer -- since the computer was factory-shipped with a valid copy of Windows, ACER will ship a "replacement" to you, for just the cost of shipping.

Re-install Windows from that set of disks.

How to delete al my data and reboot my computer

Hi shotta-101,

Most ACER computers have a recovery partition or disc that is bundled with the PC that can automatically do the job for you. I would suggest that you read the manual of your computer first or contact ACER support so that you will know how to do this function, since it would be a lot faster to just restore your computer to factory defaults than doing a clean reinstall. Sometimes you just need to press a certain button or key on the keyboard in order to run this function.

If you still want to do a clean reinstall of Windows, you can check out these guide to help you. If you're installing Windows XP Pro/Home SP2 you can you this guide:

http://www.windowsreinstall.com/winxppro/sp2installxpcdnewhdd/indexfullpage.htm

If you're installing Windows Vista Basic/Home Premium, here is a guide to follow (this can also be applicable with other versions of Vista):

http://vistahomepremium.windowsreinstall.com/upgrade/upgradetovista.htm

After that you still need to install the drivers and programs for your ACER desktop PC using the discs that came with the PC.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)

Acer e lock activated??????????????

I have a working workaround solution to this problem - save yourself 100usd (what acer requests from the unlocking) and press the ask me button to send me the free(FREE POST TO FORUM) request, Il give you the workaround, will take less than 10 minutes to solve the problem, really not worth it to pay 100usd for something this silly.

Il possibly soon make a video tutorial on how its done but for now, send me a request and il tell you how to get rid of the problem.
