Question about Computers & Internet
If you have a warranty get it fixed for free. As you are not sure you know what you are doing I don't feel comfortable telling you to try complex solutions and have you accidentally make the problem worse. If you bring it back to the store they will reinstall all the software and operating system and this will erase everything you have done and you husband will not know what you have done. The only thing left on the computer will be what was there when it was new. As you have a warranty and you want to get rid of the evidence this is the best solution to your problem. Please take the time to rate this a fixya on this solution as this is definitely the way for you to go in your situation you are in.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask me. Do what I say and you will be OK, GOOD LUCK

Test your memory (RAM) before you do anything else, I would hate to see you go to alot of trouble when you only have a bad memory module.
