CHECK NEGATIVE BATTERY CONNECTIONS MAKE SURE BATTERY CABLES AND TERMINALS CLEAN. AND CHECK ALTERNATOR WIRES MAKE SURE THEY ARE TIGHT NOT LOOSE OR DISCONNECTED.AND CHECK ALTERNATOR FUSE
Sounds like you have blown the battery fuse. It is located in the fuse box under the hood, and this is common if you have the postive wire still connect to the battery. IF the power wire off the altenator touchs metal it will ground on and blow the fuse. The fuse is normal around 75 amps or so. I would check that first if all seems in order there then it might be a broken postive battery cable.
Have you checked if you have taken the engine ground off towards the othe end while working.(not the battery end)
check for power at the ignition switch
check fuse in the engine bay
check fuse inside the car under the dash
