Question about Hitachi FDX Series 43FDX10B 43" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Fuzzy double overlapping images.

My wife and I were watching TV the other night, when all at once the picture went fuzzy, it jumps around a bit, and the images are doubled or overlapping. After TV has been off for a while when it is first turned on the picture is normal but after a few minutes the picture goes out and it starts all over again.

This comes at a bad time for us as this friday my wife has to start taking chemo once every three weeks until middle of November. She was planning on watching TV to pass time when she is not feeling good.

We do not have anyone close by to fix this problem. Is it something I could do myself if I new what the problem is? I am a do it your selfer.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for your support and advice. You were 100% correct. There was a loose resistor connection. I soldered it, now the TV works great.

Again, I thank you so much.

Good Day, alsharp;

I am very sorry about the condition of your wife, I hope she recovers totally and my prayers are with you, your wife and family.

Do not turn TV on, the problem may get worse to the point where the TV may go DOA.

It sounds like you have some poor connections on the TV's convergence IC's. Since, you say that you are handy you maybe able to fix this yourself. If you own a good soldering station / pencil.

The convergence IC's will be located on the right hand side of the TV, looking from the back. They will be attached to a large silver device (heat sink). The IC's have 16 pins on each one, there 2 of them, side by side. Remove old solder and apply new.

I hope this was helpful. E-mail me at mmrkcar@yahoo.com for more info if you need it.

God Bless, big IRISH.

I have a 2 year old LG LCD TV (model 42LG60) and I am having problems with the screen. I turn it on and everything is fine for a few minutes and then the screen goes to red or green lines that are fuzzy....

Not really a solution, sorry, but I've got the very same problem. I haven't noticed the time before tv faults, but nontheless, it greenscreens or like in your case, redscreens as well. I've been told to open the back, which I did to check the status of the capicitors, which I've done. But, the capacitors "seem" fine. No bulging or popped tops. So, I'm at a stand still...not sure what to do at this point. If someone gives you solution, I sure would appreciate your forwarding it on to me. Thanks. Robert

I have a DX-L26-10A that has problem with the A/V inputs. The picture is fuzzy. All the other inputs on the TV have a good picture. Both A/V1 and A/V2 are fuzzy.

AV1 and AV2 are Composite signals. What this means is that the Image signal and the Image color are combined into a single feed... or a composite or signal and color. Other than using CH3 from the cable box, this is the poorest performer in regards to signal quality. Additionally, the signal only has 480 lines of resolution and your TV has 720.

What all this means is that 480 lines of poor image quality are being blown up (think magnified) to fill 720 lines of resolution on the screen. What you end up with is a blurry image when compared to other inputs (ie: HDMI, COMPOSITE). The Dynex TV does not have some of the more advanced video processing of other manufactures. It will perform the image doubling, a bit of filtering, but not much more.

I suspect you TV is fine. A transition to an HD display can be shocking to some. After all, the VCR looked better on the old analog TV (not a joke, it did).

I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

Open the back cover and check any fuse blow in Y Sustain board or Z Sustain board. If you do find the fuse gone, replace the board. Good luck!

Change your input source. You are probably on Input Source "TV". My HDMI cable is plugged in INPUT 4 so make sure that your TV is set to the right INPUT.
