I am afraid to inform you that your Notebook needs to be replaced.

As BIOS is the basic software (firmware) which will be interacting with all the Hardware in the Notebook, it may not be possible to do anything if it is erased from the BIOS ROM Chip.

However, there are few service centers around who will be able to Flash the BIOS so that you will be able to use it.

Actually, we are not supposed to even touch the Notebook when the BIOS is being flashed in Notebook like yours.

However, in latest HP Notebooks, the BIOS is being provided as Winflash which can be flashed within the Operating System by double clicking it.

Hope this helps...

Try tapping the F12 key during boot. That should bring up a menu of bootable devices. Select the floppy drive.
You can also change the boot order in the BIOS.

Make *absolutely sure* you are plugged in when you flash the BIOS!

I updated my bios , during that the sys froze up and i had to reset the laptop. after reset it shows only blank screen and it wont boot.

on rare occasion, you can download a bios upgrade bootable image.

This can be made into a disc or floppy, and run on boot.

Once the disc or floppy is run, it will begin the process of re-installing the bios.

As of right now, you have a partially upgraded bios, which means you really have no bios.

Your computer will not run because your motherboard is having a major identity crisis.

unfortunately this is not an easy fix, and may require the assistance of the laptop manufacturer.

I'm sorry but looks like the BIOS maybe damaged - you'll have to get the BIOS fixed or replaced (on the motherboard) unless it has a socket. If anything happened during the upgrade process like a power interruption, it could cause the problem. The BIOS upgrade process does an erase/write flash of firmware to its' memory. If disrupted, the firmware codes become corrupted.

Toshiba satellite becomes unresponsive after bios

Hi,

First of all try this. Turn the laptop off and remove the battery. hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Plug just the AC mains power jack in and turn the laptop on.
If it boots all is well, turn the machine off, put in the battery.

Just out of interest can you remember who manufactured the BIOS? was it Phoenix or AMI?

Good luck.

yes unfortunately when you flash the bios it is physically erasing the cmos chip and then re-imaging the new bios on it..the cmos chip is attached to the motherboard..you can get *** removed and replaced but its a lot cheaper and easier just to by a new motherboard
