We are trying to do a load and water trickles in for 10 seconds and then stops. Sometimes it tries to spin.,sometimes it just sits there. We have been hitting the stop/cancel button before opening the lid. This has been a lemon since the beginning.

Re: lights,tries to run
Sounds like you have a bad control board but could also be a pressure switch problem. You would have to have a technician check it out. The calypso machines were discontinued after a class action law suit. They have multiple issues and are not worth repairing. Save your money and buy a new machine.

You could try a hot load with epsom salts....this will clean out the machine....Make sure it is with hot water. It goes slow in between rinse and spin possibly because it is slow draining...clean out the pump. Also as it FILLS make sure the water runs in properly and not just trickle in making a hissing noise. Good luck.

Hi just read your posting. This problem sounds like your control module is doing funny things.Does it show an error code at all and beep? What part of Australia are you in?There is a place in Melbourne that tests these modules. Please reply with additional information and I am sure I can help you.Looking forward to your reply.
Try pushing the start/pau botton several times, this causes the drain to start drining, when it stops and starts flashing again, push the botton again. The water needs to come down a level and sometimes it may start to spin.I've had several problems with this type of washer,But all machines do this. After you get the clothes to spin, remove them and put,draino-max gel or Rooto-rooter drain opener in drum and let it sit 1-3hrs.then run machine heavy-duty hot-water no clothes, you may have to run it several times to get all the cleaner out.the pump may be clogged with animal-hair or strings from clothes.good luck
I have a problem with my MW512AU. Sometimes it drains after wash cycle, but sometimes it sticks when it goes to spin, doesn't get up to speed, water comes on for about 10 seconds and shuts off, and it tries to spin again. If I hit the wash progress switch it goes directly to final spin and works ok. I then have to run a 2nd wash cycle to rinse the clothes. I also noticed a buzzing sound when I turn on the power point, which lasts about 3 seconds before stopping. It will come back on every 3-4 minutes for 30 seconds. This is with the machine power switch off. It powers on normally.
The transmission in this machine is worn and is not shifting correctly. Understand that after the aggitate cycle, this machine should go into drain cycle without spinning and it should drain for about 1 minute. Then it should kick into spin cycle after it has emptied all the water. What is happening is it is (like skipping) the drain cycle and going directly into spin with water still in it,,, so the spin is slow as it is trying to empty and spin at the same time,,, thus the clothes do not spin out correctly,,, when you reset the spin, you actually spin all the water out the second time around.
Hope this is not a double reply, I'm having problems with this board. You have the symptoms of a Clutch issue if the machine type is a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW.If that is your machine type please see this Postif you want to DIY the fix or share with a repair person. Post back if you have questions
Does it click when closing the lid ? Sometimes , the lid switch arm , will work inserting something into it , but not with the lid closed . Try checking it using the lid itself . Occasionally , the arm wears to where it has to be pushed farther down to work so the actuator on the lid cannot push it far enough down . Have to replace the lid switch for it to work properly or bypass the lid switch from under the console .
