Make sure that your battery is charged. Turn it on while it is plugged into your computer. If it still won't boot tou will have to do a factory reset.

Hp pavilion dv9000 takes a long time to get past the bios screen. It won't boot of dvd either??

Check BIOS boot options and assign local hard drive as first for faster boot. This is also where you set CD\DVD as first to boot from disc. Look for F Key press on start up. It will be shown on screen. These can vary.

Many HP machines also have a boot menu option during boot. Again an F key and may vary.

Gateway MP8708 Won't boot past BIOS and won't boot into CD/USB/Safe Mode on XP - Blank screen with keyboard dead - Num locks on and wireless light

Windows won't start up? Well, try this Download Tenorshare Data Recovery from its offical site and install it. Burn it into CD/DVD, or USB flash, put into the computer you need to repair, Bios setting. It can make sure your important data will not lose. Best of luck

My toshiba tablet won't let me go past the welcome screen

If this is under warranty take it back. If it isn't power the unit on with just the battery powering the unit. When you see the Windows splash screen drop the battery out after the screen goes black put the battery back in and press the power button. This should bring up the on screen menu telling you it failed to start or shut down correctly. Select, Boot in Safe Mode and see if the system will power on. If that fails you need to do a system restore. To access system restore options power the unit on and press and hold the F10 key, this will bring up the restore Windows options. From that menu select to restore your operating system. If that fails you will have to do a complete restore to factory default settings. If that fails you will have to replace the hard drive.

My labtop will not move past welcome screen

Upon boot up, press the F8 key and boot into safe mode.

Allow it to boot all the way into safe mode.

Once it finishes booting, then shutdown the computer normally.

Then, once off, turn it on again and allow it to boot up as usual.

Good luck
