Cannon ir 1023 will not scan in windows 7 64bit

For the scanning you have to use the USB port and load the Tool Box 4.9 scanning software on the CD or from the Canon site. If you have commercial scanning software you will have to use the Scan Gear software as an interface between the scanning software and the copier.. Good Luck.

I have Mustek 1248US. Can it scan to PDF?

Scan to PDF is controlled by your software. What OS and software are you running? Under Windows, Nuance's PaperPort, http://www.nuance.com (or OmniPage which includes PaperPort) or Abby Fine Reader Express, http://www.Abby.com , both will let you scan to PDF. Open the software and set the options for scanning to PDF. Then press the scan button in the software. (Depending on the OS and Mustek driver, you may get this to work by pressing the Scan button on the scanner itself. This depends on installing a monitoring program that may be included in the drivers. This "listens" for the button press and then launches the desired software.) Other third-party software may also do this.

If you are using something like Windows Fax and Scan, you'll have to do two steps. Scan and then convert the file from an image to PDF. (There are dedicated programs that convert image files to PDF or you can do this is Microsoft Office or other office suites with the appropriate add-on.)

I hope this helps.

(I have an older scanner with Windows 7; I can only scan to PDF with third-party software.)

How to scan into my computer

Hello, I am happy to help you with your question. Samsung SCX-4200 supplies software calls Samsung Smarthru. This software application includes a scan command. The software is locagted on the CD that accompanied the printer.

Here are some excerpts from the manual:

Your machine offers the following ways to scan an image:

• From TWAIN-compliant software: You can use other

software including Adobe Photoshop Deluxe and Adobe

Photoshop.

• From the Windows images Acquisition (WIA) driver: Your

machine supports the WIA driver for scanning images.

• From the Samsung SmarThru software: Launch Samsung

SmarThru and open Scan To to begin scanning.

NOTE: To scan with your machine, you must install the
software.

Loading document

You can use the document glass to load an original document

for copying and scanning.

1 Lift and open the document cover.

2 Place the document face down on the document glass

and align it with the registration guide at the top left

corner of the glass.

3 Close the document cover. Be careful not to move the

document.

NOTES:

• Leaving the document cover open while copying may affect

copy quality and toner consumption.

So, basically, if you have the software installed. Open the Smarthru software, load your original onto the glass, face down, and close the lid. Select scan, the software may provide you with a preview of the scanned image. Once you scan the document, you must save it to a location on your hard drive, often it is called "My Scans" in your "my documents" file.

I hope that this is helpful. I have attached a link directly to the Samsung website manual for your model

How do I scan to the computer?

The exact steps to scan will depend on what software you're using. Windows itself has a "Scanner and Camera Wizard" that you can use. Most scanners come with software that gets installed along with the necessary drivers when you run the installation CD. (You do have a properly installed scanner connected, right?)

In general, the steps in scanning are:
  1. Place the item to be scanned on the scanner.
  2. Start the scan software.
  3. Do a preview scan.
  4. Select any scanning options and the scan area as applicable.
  5. Scan the item.
  6. Tell the software to save the image if it's not automatically saved for you.
The fine details will vary, but that's basically all there is to scanning.

Scan error - Can not connect

If you are scanning from your pc and seeing this error message it could mean that your scan drivers are disassociated. If you have multiple multi function printers or scanners that could be causing the problem as it creates a conflict with the software framework. I would recommend uninstalling the software as well as any other multifunction and reinstalling the software as well as the additional product software.

If you are scanning from the printer it may not be set up and you would have to set up scan destinations.

How do you get the Canon Pixma mp500 to scan?

Hi there,

Scanning images,
About Scanning images
You can scan images from the machine to a computer without printing them and save them in popular formats. Scanned data saved on your computer can be processed using image processing software. If the software is not installed, install it.
- Does the document to be scanned meet the requirements for an original to be set on the Platen Glass ?

Confirm that the connection between the machine and the computer is physically secure.

Scanning Methods.
