I have an old fantom - moz-screenshot.jpgI found a manual for the Fantom Stick Vac, model FS801 (your model may be different).
For "Cleaning Air Driven Turbo Brush", it says:

  1. Remove the turbo brush from the hose or extension tube.
  2. Slide locking latch forward, then tilt the top housing of the brush upwards. The top housing is hinged and will tilt up approximately 45 degrees only.
  3. There may be some dust, lint, hair, etc. on the turbine wheel. Remove as much of this as possible.
  4. You may also use the unit's hose with the crevice tool attached, and use the vacuum to remove any additional debris from the turbine.
  5. Ensure that the turbine wheel moves freely by rotating it with your finger. If the turbine does not rotate, call Customer Service for help.
  6. Once clean, close the top cover of the turbo brush and slide the locking latch towards the rear of the brush to lock.
There is also an image in the manual that might help. You can download the manual for free here.

Hope this helps!

Where can I find a user's manual for my Fantom Thunder vaccum model #12052 00?

All manuals are free if they are available. Your make model seems incomplete, I see Euro-Pro and Shark in the results. The search query for this is just three words;

make model manual

Eureka Fantom Thunder 12V/older model Need instructions on how to change belt and headlights.I could only find 1 screw on the bottom plate none on top plate. Thanks N J

there are two screws on the Fantom Thunder (It was not made by Eureka though) on the back of the unit just above the rear wheels. Remove these two screws and the top cover can be removed to get to the brushroll, belt and headlights. I believe the light bulbs in this unit are 12 Volt, not 110 volt.

Sweeper belt

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,

Have you replaced the belt with a new one yet? You may want to try replacing the belt, as with flat belts like the Fantom Thunder, they do stretch out 4 -5 inches after time. We in fact recommended replacing a flat belt every year, even if the belt doesn't break, because of the stretching. I think what may have happened, is that your belt is stretched to the point where it will not stay on the pulley as soon as there is any tension (putting the brushes on carpeting), which will cause the belt just to slip off.

You should be able to replace the belt (very inexpensive, we sell Fantom belt for $2) and this should take care of the problem. When you replace the belt, you should also take the roller brush apart and remove any hair, or thread that may be wrapped around the bearings. You should be able to remove the bearing cap by pulling them, or holding one end, and unscrewing the other.

I'd even be willing to send you a free Fantom Thunder belt, if you'd be so kind to vote Fixya for this answer :-) Just send me an email with your name, address, and the exact model number (located on the back of the machine, or the bottom of it) of your vacuum, and vote Fixya, I'll immediately ship you the belt for free!

Please let me know if you have any other questions I can help you with.

Belt is broken

Most upright vacuums will have 2 screws on the bottom of the vacuum. Remove both screws and snap off bottom cover to get inside of the head. Remove old / broken belt and slide agitator off from the head unit. Stretch new belt with both hands then place around the agitator and pulley coming out of the motor. Place the agitator back into place (there will be some resistance from the new belt, but that is common). Put back on the bottom cover and place back the screws. You should be all set then. Hopefully this helps.
