GPS touch screen not working

I have AVIC D2 pioneer in dash GPS. The touch screen is not working. I know the screen needs to be recalibrated. Could you tell me how to recalibrate the screen and do touch screen test. Thanks in advance.

I am having the same issue, my lower right hand buttons do not work on the touch screen, have had this issue since the 1st year and no one seems to have the answer to fix it, yes, it's frustrating as I can't choose any addresses & use the gps.. If anyone knows the fix, please help! thanks!

Same exact problem. Touch screen does not work on the lower left hand side. If I hit the button to skip a track, for example, it selects the button to go back a track. I cannot go forward in tracks by using the touch screen. Similar issues for the GPS system.

The keys on right side of screen do not work. The keys to the left of the key I am touching will highlight.

can your provide more details on your fix? Where is the little reset button that you've mentioned in your solution? Does this complete recalibrate the screen?

This works!!!! This saved me $200.00 I am eternally thankful! the key to it is pressing the little reset button. it is very small and only accessable with a pen. If you follow the directions as listed, it will work. I've been born agan for fixya!

I have a Pioneer AVIC-D2 DVD Nav/6.5" Screen/AM/FM/CD Player Car Video Player i can play music on it ,wen i insert a dvd the screen goes black i can hear the dvd playing on my speakers but no picture comes...

there is a safety brake wire that needs to be hooked up. If it was installed professionally, have them explain it to you. There is not supposed to be any video players in view of the driver while in motion. Stop your car and put on the parking brake. If you installed it yourself, you probably didnt hook up the wire. Look inthe install manual for DVD safety wire.

Some buttons don't work

Pioneer AVIC-D1 Touch Screen Recalibration

If your pioneer AVIC car navigation unit does not register your touches or the wrong button is “pressed”, you need to re-calibrate your screen’s digitizer.

1-Hold the Eject button down until the face of the unit drops all the way
2-Using a pen hold down the reset button (just above the joystick) and the navigation disc eject simultaneously.
3-Release the reset button.
4-Release the dvd eject button next. The display will read “press reset”
5-Push the joystick up two times.
6-Push the joystick down twice.
7-Press the joystick in.
8-The service menu will appear after a short pause. You can navigate the service menu using the joystick.
9-Chose the first menu option and press in on the joystick.
10-Trace the screen with a stylus.
11-"P.ADJ" is the back button
12-Chose the second menu item in order to calibrate the touch screen. Use a stylus again and tap the "+" sign on the screen. (You may have to touch slightly off center if the digitizer is damaged. In which case things will still be off but it will be much better.)
