Can you upgrade a machine E525 to run blu-ray,

If so what is the price?

  • Anonymous Jan 22, 2022

    Say laptop, .... 2009 made E-machines
no we do not sell drives,O.D.D. nor know price.
Laptops do not use generic ODD like desktops do. that drive has custom front cover to fit you old PC and not look UGLY FIT.
the steps are buy the drive (correct one) and install it
I see none for sale so all questions internal are moot.
or buy USB external Blu-ray drive ! bingo but most fail on XP , no TOLD by you.

google it find it and buy it and plug it in.
or ask any shop to do this.
do your own shopping if price matters learn how to shop, (search)
we are not a shop nor a store.
    we are free advice.

Since you only have a CD drive on your computer, you can get a Blu-ray drive and simply connect it to your computer via USB.

You can check on this for some cheap Blu-ray drive options:

Then you also need to download a piece of Blu-ray player program to play the Blu-ray discs. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a free program.

It's not really possible to do this internally. It would cost you more than the original price of the laptop to do so.
You can plug in an external drive to accomplish this. Here is an example of one drive: http://www.amazon.com/Blu-Ray-Player-Laptop-External-Burner/dp/B001UDTTJE

I can play dvds but alot of blo rays i get a check disc

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, when blue ray disc are loaded it runs at a higher velocity than standard dvd's and more precision in tracking to produce the greater resolution, unfortunately the only way to address the problem is replace the machine because the repair cost will exceed the price of a new unit by a wide margin.

When attempting to copy blu ray disc message reads disc not detected.(emachine e525)

Although the same shape and size, Blue Ray disks are a completely different format to DVD's and CD's. You drive won't recognise them

You'll need to get a Blue ray RW drive, and it doesn't stop there. Because there a great deal more information on a blueray disk, you'll need several dvd disks to copy the info to a DVD.

Bluerays hold about 25Gb of data, DVD's hold 4.7 GB and CD's hold 700Mb data.

For avatar how fix samsung bd c5500c blu-ray

If this is a Blu Ray Disk then your unit needs a firmware upgrade to be able to play the new Blu ray format. Contact Samsung for the upgrade file, burn to a DVD and run. The update will allow your unit play the new BR Format.

Player can not play disk (blu ray SONY BDP-S300)

There are firmware upgrades at the Sony site, I just upgraded to v5.20. You download an .exe file, run it under Windows, burn the resulting .iso file to a CD, insert the CD into the BDP-S300 and wait about 20 minutes. More detailed directions on the site, too.

My dvd will not play on my e525 it say i need a dvd decoder how do i do that ?

You have 2 options, to pay for software or use a free solution. Since I know free is the popular choice, Ill go with this one first. A good free solution is VLC media player. I have had mixed success with this solution, as sometimes the video is choppy or glitchy. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ A good paid solution that I have had much success with is WinDVD. It also has blu ray support so if your pc has a blu ray drive, I would suggest it. http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1189528458632#versionTabview=tab1&tabview=tab0 Best of luck!

New blu-ray dvd's won't play properly

Latest version is v071101a. you can find it here and burn to disc.
Or contact LG for a disc.
As a work around you might try to switch between PCM and bitstream and see if that helps.

http://www.blu-ray.com/firmware/firmware.php?id=17

Since the LG combo platform doesnt suppourt many HD features if you are thinking about buying new Blu-ray player (since the format war is over) I would go with the PS3 - best value for the price, is already set up for adavnaced features such as internet connectivity (with auto software updates), even if you dont use the game features.
