Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

Problem with HP dv6426us(Altec Lansing) speakers.

I use HP dv6426us. when i close the lid a very sharp sound comes from the speaker, the volume of the sound depends on the system volume. i don't get any sound if i mute the speakers and close the screen. if i keep head phones and close the lid then no sound is heard. in power options i kept "if the lid is closed then do nothing and so it goes on making that sharp sound. if i changed this option to 'standby' then, whenever i close the lid i can hear that sound up to 10 sec. Please help

Try and lower the sound on your laptop and than close it. but if it keeps on happening, than try and emailing the company that the laptop is made from.

Check your settings in Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices. Make sure vollume is turned up and that the default device under the Audio Tab for sound playback is set to your Altec speakers.

Laptop sound not working

troubleshoot for a disconnected wire right below the mouse pad or under the speaker panel. I went through the same problem... it was a disconnection problem. I fixed it myself and never tore a computer apart before. It works great now!

Right speaker is suddenly not working

try another set of speakers and/or headphones. If the same result, chances are, the right audio channel is the culprit and a mobo replacement is needed.

Laptop speakers won't work after installing logitech USB speakers

Okay, go to the HP website and download the speaker drivers. It will require a reboot.

Also, try checking the Control Panel Sound Settings if the volume is low from there. This is because increasing the system volume won't work if there is a mute enabled on the speakers themselves.

Also check if the item 'Use This Device (Enable)' is selected. Go to your speaker properties. It is in the dialog box that appears now. Loom at the bottom of it for a drop down menu.

The volume settings are available in the other tabs. Make sure the volume is at 100 and the mute is unchecked.

No sound after i reformat i lost my cd utility driver

Go to your device manager list, right-click my computer icon on the desktop then go to properties. Go to hardware tab, click device manager, go and click "sound and video controllers" to see if anything is with a yellow question mark, if there is you need to uninstall the one with the question mark, if not close that window and proceed to right-clicking the volume or speaker icon on your tray (near the system clock on the task bar), right-click and select "adjust audio properties", go to audio tab and select the right audio device from the list you can also see there other playback properties you can try and troubleshoot from there...
