Either the stylus is worn or you have not got enough weight to the stylus. As you don't state which type it is all I can say is look at the end of the arm and see if there is a weight with numbers on. Increase the pressure to the stylus by setting it a higher number. Do it in stages till the stylus stays in the grooves without causing rumble to the sound.

My turntable a Crosley CR49 is about 14 years old. It plays just fine, but have to manually reset, clicking the tone arm after every record I play, either 45s or 33 1/3. How Can I fix this?

You will need to get to the underside of the turntable. There you should find that the arm when it gets to the centre of the record it will push on a switch. This switch might be out of position or just get stuck by grease or dirt. Correcting it should solve the problem.

Why does my lenco l90 turntable cut out when near the end of playing a 45

If you search Google for the model manual you will find a PDF of it.

A quick look at it says turn the auto return switch off.

Denon DP-61F Turntable Rotates Slower than 33.

The answer lies in that 33 button. The connections to the should be followed and investigated why it does play correctly when held.

My audio-technica PL50 plays 45s at the wrong speed.

believe it or not not it probably doesn`t even play your lp`s at the right speed? Its probably because your drive belt has actually stretched? rubber belts do wear and maybe seek out a replacement drive belt?

try this company?

How do I set up a record for 45 speed?

You place it over the turntable spindle if you need to use it. Many 45s have a standard 6mm spindle hole so you do not need to.
