Subsidy password for motorola w490

The term Subsidy Password is used by Motorola and other handset manufacturers to refer to the 8-digit (or 16-digit code for newer phones such as the Motorola K1) unlock code necessary to remove the operator lock (also known as subsidy lock) from cell phones. This code is randomly assigned to individual cell phones by the OEM on request of the mobile service operator and prevents the use of a particular phone on a cellular network other than that to which the phone was originally sold.

To get the Subsidy code You can reach here
Mobileunlocksolutions.com enter the code correctly following the instructions below:

Warning : Do not enter any wrong unlock codes on your Motorola W490 mobile phones. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes on your Motorola W490 mobile phone, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.
1 - Switch ON your Motorola W490 with a NOT ACCEPTED SIM Card,
2 - Phone will display "Enter Special Code",
3 - You can now enter the Unlock Code.

NOT ACCEPTED: We mean, to use a sim card from a network other than the network your Motorola W490 is locked to.

WARNING: If one of theses messages appear :

- "Contact Service Provider"
- "Tampert Alter"
- "Wait before enter special Code"
- "Contact Service'

I'm getting a boot loader error, "ph sig err 35:02:" How do I fix this?

your phone is stuck in bootloader mode and needs to be reflashed if your still under warranty then try and just return it for a new one. If not then you"ll have to download a backup of either a w490 or w510. Both are free.
w490 here:http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/motorola/w490/
w510 here:http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/motorola/w510/

Cant view video off my mini sd card when i put it in computer

Try Downloading Quicktime to your PC. Its free and it plays 3GP(Mobile Phone) and MP4. Which is probably the format your phone is saving the videos in.

W490 wont read memory card

Hi, sykko_one, I have the exact same phone and was experiencing the same problems. After about a year of using my phone and storing music, pictures, videos, etc. on my phone it would suddenly stop working. Sometimes it would work, and sometimes I wouldn't be able to save or read any data on the memory card. What I did to fix it was completely remove the memory card from the phone and used a micro sd Tinpec card reader, picture here. You want the one that supports micro sd. You can find them on ebay or amazon. Then connect your micro sd card to your pc with the adapter and right-click the removable drive (might be drive e: or f:) and choose format. Leave the default options and format the disk. Make sure you've selected the right disk. To verify this you can open the drive and look at the contents, it should have a folder called "moble." Go ahead and format the drive. Then use chkdsk.exe from the command line to check the disk for errors. Syntax will look like "chkdsk f: /f" or "chkdsk e: /f" (depending on the drive letter assigned to your sd card reader.)

If the format and chkdsk do not work. try just deleting all the information from the card and copying some pictures and music files to it. If these copy successfully then I would assume the problem is with the firmware on your phone. Take the phone to a t-Mobile store and see if they can't re-load the firmware. And don't worry about deleting any data from your sd card, it will not affect the phone in any way, it will just delete whatever pictures music files you have stored on the card. So be sure to back those up first before you do anything. Hope this helps. -Rogueelite
