Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3
I plugged it into the wall to recharge last night. It was on and working fine this morning and after I left it for a few hours it turned off by itself and won't turn back on.
I've swapped batteries and sim cards with my old razr phone and the battery is not the problem. When you hold down the off/on key it lets out one vibration, lights up the key pad and that's it.
I've plugged it into the car and 2 different wall chargers and the red light on the front flashes then turns off (there's no "charging" or beeping or anything). I bought it in June so its still under warranty. They're sending me a new one but I'd like to get the phone numbers off it that were not attached to my sim card.
Anyone know of a key sequence or anything that I can press to reset or restart it? Thanks!
I've had two RAZR phones die in the same way. The first time I went into Cingular to see if they could fix it and they told me it was a goner. It was replaced under warranty. I had one die that way a week ago as well, and got that replaced. The first time, I lost every number and address I had in it. This time I had it all saved to the SIM card so I could upload it to the new one. Sad fact is, that phone is most likely done for and the numbers are lost.

Hopefully this will work for you. Go to your cell phone provider and ask them for a 3G Sim card. To my knowledge all V3XX are 3G. I discovered that my service provider had 3G SIM cards after I purchased my husband a v3xx and he had problems with his service. I was told by the service technician when I called for help to try the 3G and it made the difference for my husbands v3XX. I am not certain this will fix your issues but it is always best to use an item t hat has been made special for that phone type... Meaning 3G.... I hope it works. I don't know if it will cost you anything or not. In my state they do not charge for SIM cards. But I have heard that some other states charge around $20 for a SIM card.

Are you using the latest version of Motorola Phone Tools v5.2.7?
Go to the following website:
Sign up to enter the site. (It's as easy as 1-2-3)
As a member, you can then download the Motorola Phone Tools v5.0.5 which when installed will automatically update to v5.2.7. Using this version should solve your problem.
**Make sure you download the USB Drivers for Windows, too.
The download for the PC Suite is in .zip format. You'll need to unzip it to a new folder. (You can create a new folder on your desktop)
After unzipping the file to the new folder, double click on it to open > locate the >>
Setup icon and double click on it.
This will install Motorola Phone Tools (PC Suite) on your PC.
Start the Phone Tools Program by double clicking on the icon on your desktop.
Download the Data Cable/Modem drivers and attach your phone to your PC with a USB data cable.
(You may also be able to use Bluetooth)
The PC Suite will include all of your options on the left hand side. <...>
