You may need to reinstall the drivers for your handheld, there is a possibility that it lost sync with your PC when you moved it.

refer to the link below for the drivers and other software for your iPaq.

if you have the recent drivers on the unit, will you try to reset the device (soft reset on the user manual) then see if you will have the same issue when trying to sync the device to your PC.

Ensure that you installed driver on computer first. You must start driver installation with phone disconnected.
If drivers where installed and suddenly phone is not recognized by computer anymore try the following:
Unplug USB from phone and Computer.
Unplug computer power cable for 5 minutes or so.
If it is a laptop also remove battery laptop for five minutes
    Remove phone battery
    Connect everything back
    Start computer
    connect PDA using USB.

If it still does not work there is a driver problem, a windows problem, or in rare case a faulty usb.
Post here if you need more troubleshooting, first ensure you follow procedure above step by step.

My usb

I had the same problem - you need to install the latest Blackberry USB driver software on the PC/laptop you are trying to charge it with. They should be on the CD you got with the Blackberry (you don't need to install all the software if you don't want to - just the USB drivers). This enables the USB ports to allow enough power to charge the device when it's connected.

If you don't have the CD, do a quick Google for "Blackberry USB driver" and download the most up-to-date ones you can find.

1) make sure you have the latest active sync installed

C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\drivers
or
c:\windows\system32\drivers....with activesync 3.7 anyways.
2) go to contro panel -> system -> device manager -> view device b
connection -> plug and play bios -> pci bus -> usb host controller -usb root hub
3)delete everything uner usb root hub.
4)from control panel run add new hardware
5)now everything under your computer's usb hub including the cradl
will be installed properly.
6)once this installation is performed, you will make sure to see "H
USB Sync 1620" under USB root hub

Problem with my usb connection

Start-Setting-Connections tab-USB to PC then clear the Enable advanced network functionality check box. This makes your PC utilize a serial USB connection with your device. The USB to PC icon appears on the Today Screen when serial USB connection is used.

Hoping this will help your problem

Audiovox SMT 5600 will not charge

If your battery goes COMPLETELY dead, which it will do if phone is not turned OFF and not used for a long period of time, you will need to JUMP START it using you OEM SMT-5600 AC charger. Other AC chargers will not work for this purpose and neither will a USB port.

You can JUMP START the battery using a USB port by cutting off a USB cable to expost the red and black power USB PORT power pins 1 and 4. Remove your SMT-5600 battery and while the modified USB cable is plugged into your USB PORT, hold the BLACK wire to the negative (-) terminal and the RED wire to the positive (+) terminal for about a minute. Replace the battery in the phone and connect the phone to a USB PORT using a standard USB cable. The SMT-5600 charging light may not register for a while, but will eventually light amber to show it is charging, assuming your phone is recoginzed by your computer.

Note some mini USB cables DONOT carry the USB power leads through to the phone, only data. If you have a very thin USB cable, be suspicious the power leads are not being carried in the cable.

Since the USB PORT power is limited to 100ma it cannot hurt the battery, but will insert enough current into a totally flat batter to cause the battery to register a voltage large enough to alllow USB PORT charging, typically 3.7VDC.

USB Mouse

You need a USB driver which the peripheral vender provides in order to use a USB mouse. Your P300 does not support a USB mouse without an additional driver.
