Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

1 Answer

Honeywell programmable thermostat

We set our temp on the thermostat (air conditioning) and the temperature will reset by itself to a different temp. We do not have it programmed at this time. We set the temp and that is it. It changes randomly to different temperatures a few times per week.

It sounds like you might have the same problem that we have. I read the manual and it says that thermostat has a special lock to prevent tampering. It could be locked. If you override it only last a while and goes back to its original settings. The manual says you need to contact the person who installed it. In our case the person who was in charge when when we had it installed is no longer with the company. We don't know who installed it.

Trying to set temp on honeywell t-stat

I believe what your experiencing is the 75 degrees is the hold temp position...the display then reverts back to the actual room temperature...it doesn't mean the set temperature changed back to 65 degrees. Try to reprogram the thermostat schedules, and try not to use the hold function...just the temporary hold. (which is bumping the programmed temperature up or down until the next programmed period)

How do I set the temporary or permanent override feature on the Honeywell RTH2310B model thermostat?

To set the temporary override, press arrows up or down to desired temp. This will keep temperature
at temporary setting for 2 hours then return to programming. To permanent override press MODE button until schedule period number disappears (number inside little house on stat). Then adjust temp with arrows. Press the MODE button again to cancel override and return to programmable.

However the heat is a different story. The thermo clicks on to follow program but the unit does not run. (auto settings) If I place the thermo in heat and turn it to on I get heat?

I have a Honeywell programmable Thermostat (an expensive one that handles humidity, etc) and every spring and fall the thermostats behave improperly by ignoring the programmed temperature and cooling the...

What is the model number of the thermostat? What may be happening is the humidity control is trying to satisfy the humidity setting by running the a/c. In the installers set-up, there should be a setting to determine how long the system should run to satisfy humidity setting. I typically set thermostats for a 3 degree droop. Meaning it'll only drop 3 degrees below set temp. Also check your humidity setting to be sure it's not set too low. It should be set between 45% and 50%.

Cannot set heat setting by using "hold" feature

make sure it is not telling you room temp, some of the Honeywells, will display room temp over desired temp. check that, if it wont let you switch temp than buy a new one, if you dont have a heat pump a new cheap stat is around 20.00.

Non-deletable schedule in VisionPRO TH8000

The thermostat has a function called "Adaptive Intelligent Recovery".

This feature allows the thermostat to learn how long the furnace and air conditioner take to reach programmed temperature settings, so the temperature is reached at the time you set. For example: Set the Wake time to 6 am, and the temperature to 70°. The heat will come on before 6 am, so the temperature is 70° by the time you wake at 6.

You can turn off this function. Download the installation guide at the next link:
http://customer.honeywell.com/honeywell/ProductInfo.aspx/TH8321U1006
and look for funcion number 0530 Adaptive Intelligent Recovery. In this manual you also find the way to do a reset with the function number 0710.

I hope this solves your problem.
