Question about Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL Flatbed Scanner

Xrays i work in a dental office and i have the microtek scanmaker 9800xl. i cannot get it to scan xrays nor can i get it to open what i have saved. help please! i am ready to drop kick it.

    i have all the necessary things to make it work. at least that is what they told us.



    i can scan the image into the system but it looks like ****. and from there i can't save it to where the program, given to me by the scanner people, can open it.

You can't scan xrays unless you have a scanner capable of scanning film, which requires a film attachment.

Microtek sent me this link to ScanPotter 1.07:

It's not the same ScanWizard Pro software that used to work on my PowerPC G5 running OSX 10.5 Leopard, but at least it enables me to use my ScanMaker 9800XL with my late 2011 17" MacBookPro and OSX 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. Get it, it works!

JKL Components was able to create a new bulb for me. Worked perfectly. Call Larry: 818-896-0019 ext 124. Very nice, and very helpful.

Try doing a fresh reinstall of the software for the scanner and then adjust the color ratios durring the install. I have found that every one to two years it is good to go through and refresh all my drivers for scanners printers ect.

Microtek is famous for making a good product that will last you a good while if it is maintained and taken care of. Yet their lack of support for said products is lacking. Try to uninstall and reinstall all the software for the scanner. Make sure before you uninstall that you still have the install disc. If not then you can find the drivers on the Microtek site.

Misty white bands down the side of scan bed
