Question about Kenmore 16602 / 16604 / 16609 Built-in Dishwasher
I currently have a Kenmore Model 587.1514*, however, I cannot locate the complete model number on my dishwasher. The sticker that is on the door was apparently torn off by an over zealous kiddo trying to clean the kitchen. The door seal and the spray arm/tower assembly needs to be replaced, however, no body will even try to research the parts with the model number range above.
I need these two parts, and the dishwasher will work perfectly, however, I need some help on how I can find the complete model number and/or a location that will help me research the part myself. Are these two parts truely so different from other models in the 587.1514 range?
Those are all the numbers you need - the remaining numbers are just the color ie: 587.1514 is the model 587.15142400 means its white

SOURCE: dishes not getting clean
brittgee, there has been a number of service flashes on this model. One that has to do with the upper spray arm assy. Complaint is poor washability; gritty glasses, food redeposited on glasses, especially in the corners. They redesigned the upper spray arm to improve water spray to all corners of the upper rack. The new part number is 8269022. They also redesigned the third level spinner for more consistant rotation and better washability. This was also under a service flash. Part number.8193768. Other reasons for poor wash would be; low water temperature, rinse aid disp. not working, loading etc. Catriver...post back.

If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses then repeats...
If the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it will stop working and lock the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive).
To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...
-high temp wash
-high temp wash
...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

SOURCE: water won't come in
There's a flood/safety switch in the dishwasher. It's there to monitor the water level. It does this by rising as the water rises... if it gets too high, it'll shut the water off.
Open the door and remove the lower rack. You'll see it right there in front. Lift and drop it several times to clear any debris. (In order for the dishwasher to get water, it has to be all the way down.) Now try your dishwasher.

Go to the link provided below and under the heading "Browse Subcomponents" click on the "Pump and Motor Parts" link. I think that shows what you're looking for. Otherwise, check the other diagram links for your model on the same page.
Hope this helps!
